- @hrjohn yes! my bad.. I tried the right shift key initially and it didn't work. But yes it was the left one! Thanks!
Hello.
Can not start the game from Origin.
Have tried with the shift button but nothing happens. What should I do?Grateful for helpBest regardsTLBM3- @tlbm3 Start the game from origin? Do you have trouble entering an event or starting the game?
I have trouble to starting the game.
When I press the start button, the computer screen turns black as if it is starting to load the game.
But then I'll come back to the Origin state page. The game has worked a few times. Have also tried reinstalling the game but it did not help.

@tlbm3 Hi, have you had any hardware changes since the game last worked for you?
If you delete your local config file does that have any impact? You'll find it at C:\Users\yourusername\Documents\Criterion Games\Need for Speed(TM) Hot Pursuit Remastered, beside teh Save folder. You can leave the Save folder untouched. Hi Thanks for your feedback.
No hardware changes.
I have now deleted the config file, but can not test if it works.
Because I can not log in to Origin, have been trying all day.
This is not ok. Does Origin have a problem with the login?

I just relogged as a test, and I'm not seeing any regional outage alerts.. What happens when you try to log in?
It says that my information is incorrect or has expired. Please try again or reset your password. The strange thing is that I have filled in (Stay logged in).
But still I have to log in every day. Why?
Then it comes up ticking I am not a robot.
I know my password is correct.
Should I reinstall Origin?
Thank you for taking the time to help me.- @tlbm3 reinstall should help, but try cleaning origin cache beforehand.
When you manage to login, try doing a restart and after that launching origin + the game right after. - Hi.
I have now cleaned the origin cache.
The only thing I did not get rid of was the serviceLogs app.
But that may not matter.
I have now logged in to Origin.
When I press the play button, the screen turns black, then after a few seconds I return to Origin. I have five NFS games on Origin, and it has never been a problem to start the games. So what's the problem with this NFS? - EA_David5 years ago

Thanks for the update. Just to be clear, are the other NFS games working?
Sometimes security software can block apps, can you try whitelisting both the game and Origin on any security software you have
Also restarting with a Clean Boot will help to check for interference from other 3rd party programs like overlays, which can also prevent games from launching.
https://help.ea.com/en-us/help/faq/how-to-clean-boot-your-pc/ - Hi.
I do not know if they work today.
First I have to download them again to test.
And this takes a long time.
The game worked in the beginning, not completely painless.
I've played 110 hours.
I have the same settings on my computer that I had when I first installed the game.
I'm unsure about performing a Clean Boot.
My computer may not work after this.
It's not worth the risk. - EA_David5 years ago

A Clean Boot is a pretty standard step, in essence it just turns off any 3rd party programs that you have set to start when your system boots up. That way you can eliminate 3rd party programs as a factor without having to hunt down and disable each one manually.
- Hi.
I have now performed a Clean Boot.
And restarted the computer.
Opened Origin pressed the play button.
The screen goes down to black for a few seconds, will the game start?
No. I'll return to the Start page on Origin. Unfortunately.
I used the left shift button when I pressed the play button. - EA_David5 years ago

Thank you. Can I check you took the security software steps above too? I just want to ensure they weren't missed previously.
- Hi.
I removed everything including security software steps.
It made no difference.
The start button on the game never appeared in Origin.
I just pressed the game and then it became a black screen, and then back to Origin. - EA_David5 years ago

OK, that's interesting, especially as you note issues with Origin previously. If you install the EA Desktop app does that have similar issues running the game?
https://www.ea.com/news/ea-desktop-app
Also if you check the Windows Event Viewer are there crash events for the game? - Hi.
I have now install EA Desktop. I press the start button and the same issues running the game from Origin. - EA_David5 years ago

OK thanks, well that's progress of a sort. Did anything show up in Event Viewer? it's ok if not, but sometimes they show up helpful info.
If you're unfamiliar with it, there's a short primer at this 3rd party site: https://www.howtogeek.com/123646/htg-explains-what-the-windows-event-viewer-is-and-how-you-can-use-it/
Also, just to double check, can you ensure your Windows doesn't have any pending updates? - Hi.
I am shutting down this troubleshooting process.
Can't find anything that would disturb the game.
I will now uninstall the game.
If you come up with an update in the future, you can get in touch.
Then maybe it works as it should. I want to play.
The game worked for 110 hours.
What happened then? - Hi
For your information.
Downloaded NFS Payback and the game worked perfectly with my computer settings. Hi,
Game does not launch for me either. I am starting it from the EA Desktop beta app and black screen comes, then exits in 3 seconds. Game does not launch. This is why I paid for EA account and it does not work at all. Shame.
