- @BVBgamer88 I actually like HP2010 even with that Criterion Burnout handling(Mainly because I played Burnout a lot when NFS became ricers)The problem actually is with EA itself. They need to accept the full series history then they can allow a new Hot Pursuit or Cannonball NFS makes a comeback. Devs just make what EA wants they have no rights to decide the style of the game unless EA has no other choices. (HP2010 was done because Criterion let EA step aside from development or they just leave EA altogether with no NFS will be made again.Just like when Criterion was bought by EA they let EA step aside from the development of BO3)

GAAS(Game As A Service) is the current trend of this industry so dev/pubs will try anything they can to make a game connected to internet. But I agree it makes game more complicated. The reason games become service so pubs can shut down the service anytime they want and force old players either leave the fanbase or buy new game. Thus they can get a quicker grab(rob in Heat's case) of money and keep robbing players with updates and DLCs and forced game shut-downGames as a Service is cancer to the gaming industry.
It's just an excuse for developers to push out rushed games for a quick cash grab (like you said).
Both The Crew 1 and 2 use Games as a Service model. And both are dead games with just the hardcore players still playing. All the people on The Crew 1 and 2 hype trains have long since been gone.

YAAAS lord! I HATED the always online setup, I'm an 80's baby too! I remember when it was just one player and two player games, now it's Multiplayer games, achievements and always online for games! Now consoles have the option to be digital meaning no more discs and installed directly to the hard drive. But I have always hated Denuvo and hated the day they first came around.
Every time I use a game with that crap on it, I roll my eyes and know that it'll push my processor and GPU levels higher than it should and guzzle more ram than it needs to all for making sure the game is legal and was legally purchased by me.
Zero makes a great point on the servers part. Anyone remember Matrix Online? What happened when they shut the servers down? All that money you spent on your avatars in that game wiped out faster than it would take you to answer your phone when it rings. How many Online servers like Matrix Online was shut down and all the invested money, time, effort just got wiped out in seconds? Same with Test Drive Unlimited 1 and 2. The online servers for that game are dead like disco. Leaving just only the single player campaign and that's fine with me.
Eventually I am dreading when they decide to pull the plug on The Old Republic, all the time, money, energy, stress I put into that game is going to be wiped out like the flick of a switch.
Remember H1Z1 anyone still play that?
- @Killjoy368 Ohh Most Wanted 2005 made you FEEL for the player! every moment spent was trying to get his ride back! and then Carbon was finding out that you were set up, and that Cross was possibly in on it to track you down and keep an eye on you! I never did Underground but I did NFSU2 and I loved it, No cops to worry about, just street racing but when you went from cars to SUV's then everyone swapped to the same thing.
Honestly, I purchased Heat earlier today. Cause I remember fondly the times I had underground 2/most wanted...
Tried playing it. for ~15/30m.Game was freezing/lagging, whereas my other non-EA games work fine.
I filed for a refund.
To all those arguing about how Denuvo offers great product protection, think how good of a sale they made if I filed for refund within hours...
- @karboneater yeah get that refund you deserve. This game is performing like * and has a million problems that don't get fixed. I suspect Denuvo is part of the problem cause everyone is getting 100% CPU usage.
I’ve bought the game on pc, seen that it was behaving very badly and refunded it after a couple hours where i tried everything, from uninstalling / reinstalling drivers, everything at low settings, all applications closed, temps were all good n etc. I’ve seen that the PS4 which has a ridiculously bad CPU and an halfway decent gpu can run the game at 30 fps with really no hiccups, and i can’t believe i’d say this but i bought that version because it is better than on my PC (it’s the opposite for every other game....lol)
Believe me considering the data i’ve collected on my tries i am 99% sure that the bad performance this game had on the pc was due to the DRM. It’s either this or they really forgot how to code for PC but to be realistic i don’t see any reason why they wouldn’t be able to make it perform as good as on a pc, if not by basically making you run other stuff behind that.Anyways it won’t matter much since i’ll simply vote with my wallet and buy the drm free copy everytime i can, if it doesn’t exist then nvm the game, lots of companies don’t use denuvo for their games and guess what, those are the ones i buy and play on my pc 😛 rest goes on consoles where mom sony and microsoft won’t allow publishers to sell games with very bad quality standards and fix the drm problem on the root by making a closed system / online network. Tbh out of the two it’s still the best option nowadays imo, because i simply don’t want to buy a cpu hog application, i didn’t buy my hardware for that.
Also, i can play offline on my ps4, lel
I refunded the game aswell on pc and bought it on console, no drm, no always online play, and a game that runs better on a worse hardware than my pc, so from my perspective it is the denuvo drm since i don’t believe that the developers forgot how to code on pc, it must be that the pc simply runs a cpu hog in background
- @Cookiesnap yeah very stupid and ironic. Games a made on a * pc! Why don't they work on a PC? It seems like EA trying to mine some bitcoins in the background too wtf!
Look at you a Miserable clueless idiot, to someone who came from playing on a gtx 1650 to now rtx 30 series you have absolutely no * Clue that how Denuvo works of course I purchased heat legally and Guess what happens I can't even maintain 60 FPS on low.
