Securom issue with NFS ProStreet on Win10
This is not only about NFS ProStreet, but also about The Saboteur, and The Sims 2 Ultimate Collection. But let's stick to NFS ProStreet, as it is the
I recently bought a new PC with a way better graphics card than the one in my laptop, and I really wanted to play Need For Speed: ProStreet and the two other games mentioned above. Side effect is that it has Windows 10 pre-installed, but that's no big deal for me. But it seems like it is for all mentioned games. After doing some research (as all of them failed to launch because of SecuRom), I found out it is about Windows 10 and probably about the processor.
Doing some more research, I found out that I had to contact the manufacturer of my PC (they build the motherboard and whatnot), to let it update in order to let the games work. Sadly, there is literally no option to contact them with this issue.
EDIT: Though, I contacted them under some other topic, which seemed most fitting for the problem - Let's see what they'll answer.
I desperately like to play all of the games, to finally enjoy them in full graphics. But obviously I can't - as there is no workaround either.
My question is:
Why doesn't EA replace the old version of Securom with a new one that is working on all imaginable versions of Windows
I know that they will never remove any DRM from their games, so I won't ask about that (but if that really happens, a lot of players would be thankful, including me).
Also, what should I do as a Windows 10-user?
Downgrading is not an option, neither is pirating all games.
I even spent the money on Origin just to circumvent this DRM-stuff (I could have bought the DVDs/CDs), but now all the money seems to be thrown out of the window into a black hole... ☹️
Did you update your bios
ADMIN EDIT: this can indeed be resolved by updating your BIOS. Please check with your motherboard manufacturer for updates and troubleshooting.
