Shifting in need for speed most wanted 2012

Can u select between manual and automatic transmissions,  or is it like hot pursuit  where your stuck with automatic only?

    There are no options in game to enable manual gearing in most wanted.

    (missing a gear during an epic chase could be costly.)

I like shifting myself AND I like automatics. The option to choose would settle this age old argument.
