Steering Sensitivity??

I have the same problem with my "keyboard". I have barely played the game since the release because of the steering. Did they do this on purpose? If there is any keyboard fix, please let me know, I'm so frustrated 😕mileysad:

It could be the same problem.  The root issue is the steering delay - you can watch the front wheels take significant time to lock into a full-turn position after you've moved the stick on your controller.  That's what is really screwing everything up.  I can get used to it for slowly-and-carefully executed turns but try to do something unexpected like swerve out of the way of a traffic car that just came into view and forget it!  It flies out of control and crashes.  I hate the steering in this game!  For the love of God, I hope they listen and release a patch!

Tried it.  Not better.  It looks like he's getting the change by mapping the steering axis to the d-pad and sending that data to the game as steering axis data (which results in binary steering capabilities (all the way to the left, straight in the center, all the way to the right) as the only options for any given moment.  I'll keep messing with it but I haven't been able to configure the program he uses in a way that is at all helpful.

Where is this tutorial btw?  You make it sound like something you do automatically when you start a new game but I never saw or did anything like that on my PC version.  I'd love to see if playing it made some kind of difference.

I've done this - it's not a fix but it makes the steering less over-sensitive.  There's still lag though, which is by design and it SUCKS!

Locate your player save folder, found normally in [Your User Folder]\Documents\Criterion Games\Need For Speed(TM) Most Wanted.

From there, open folder "Save", then the folder with a long number.

Open file "controls.NFS13Save" in notepad.

Find the lines that correspond to your left and right steering configs with your desired controller.  It'll look like this:

  [Config_Xbox 360 Controller for Windows]
  STEERLEFT=0,X_AXIS (LS),0.00,-1.30
  STEERRIGHT=0,X_AXIS (LS),0.00,1.30

Notice that I've changed the final range numbers from -1.00 in the first line and 1.00 in the second to -1.30 and 1.30 respectively.

This cuts down a lot on over-sensitivity and made the game at least minimally playable for me.  The numbers themselves can be set to anything you like, but the larger numbers you choose, the less maximum steering range you'll have.  I found +- 1.3 to be the best setting for me.  I still HATE the steering lag that is built into the game and for my $53 I want it FIXED!!  but I hope this helps in the meantime.

Same with me here...played NFS series with Keyboard on computer and this series is like hell. Hard to control

Hey guys i had the same problem of delayed steering response while playing with keyboard.

Solution :

I did the following  

1. I downloaded NFSMW (2012) Realistic Plugin by ToCa Edit from https://docs.google.com/document/pub?id=1_-0VZr6V30hcmsG-MBCanbYEfhJhJPP_uVI8oLpQKTI & set the linearity to -30,

2. Reduced the graphics settings to Low,

3. Fixed the fps to 30 (coz the game was lagging) (in the config file located in \Documents\Criterion Games\Need For Speed(TM) Most Wanted\config.NFS13Save. open as notepad then modify the line with the name "LockTo30? to true, the lag disappears but the game run always on 30 fps)

Now the cars control way better than before. I was able to complete races without hitting walls and other vehicles.

and the NFSMW (2012) Realistic Plugin  also has the Camera Control settings which are very helpful...

Just to be sure i tried playing game with & without the plugin...there was a huge difference...

I've played many of the previous NFS titles for PC, and I do enjoy NFS:World quite a bit, no problems at all. But this steering delay in Most Wanted 2012 pisses me off, it's unplayable and no, it's not my PC. I love everything else I've seen so far in this game but I just can't play it like this, I regret buying it ☹️

That's exactly it. I watch the hands or the wheels and when you quickly go left then back centre, there's a delay? I got this game for free for the SimCity issues and I can't play it this way. Depending on speed it's way to sensitive or not enough. Where are the acceleration sliders for the steering?

Same as mesodef. I got this as my SimCity freebie. Works great otherwise - graphics are good, framerates are excellent, but playing with a keyboard makes the game virtually unplayable as it's about a half second to a second before my inputs are recognized. Not just steering, but even the menus, it seems. I'm not using a wireless keyboard. Any ideas for fixes? This game looks promising.
