However, when you decide to make the character customizable, realize that the player is going to want to identify with their character. Whether that is how they would like to look like if they weren't restrained by their surroundings or fantasizing about who they could have been if they were born differently. It is about inclusivity. I simply cannot identify with any of the standard characters because I do not have the body shape of a tank. Seriously, these guys could probably not even fit in most of the cars you make them race in. How is that for unrealistic beauty ideals? Oh, and another detail that just really, really annoys me. None of your characters have blue eyes. I know, they are details, but because of this I cannot choose a character that even remotely looks like me.
