Well At least The Game Looks Nice

This game is downright terrible and lazy, the driving is a arcade mess your car is super stiff but when you apply the handbrake you do a flat 20g 90 degree turn in a split second, so the only real way to "drift" is to tap your brake button, (which is down arrow on PC by default). Also want to change your controls when you first get in to the game, Well too * bad because guess what there is no pause menu, no, nothing at all, instead if you want to change your settings in any form be it graphical all the way down to controls or difficulty you HAVE  TO FULLY CLOSE DOWN THE GAME AND REOPEN IT TO BE PUT AT THE MAIN MENU. Well surly it shows you the main menu on the first launch nope, puts you straight in to the game with no chance of setting up controls or graphical settings. Oh and that steering well which you might have sitting on your desk, well cant use that in this game because there is 0 and i mean 0 settings for steering wheel support but don't worry you can still use a normal controller so i guess that's a benefit?

Pre Order refunded and will most probably never come back to Need For Speed left originally at NFS The Run, and though why not, now playing the trial though origin access I feel they have completely and royally * the franchise.

  • Are you saying the controls can or cannot be changed? PC or Console?
  • Controls can be changed on PC, consoles i doubt it, but the thing is you can't change them without either manually editing the INI files, or by fully restarting the game as there is no escape menu at all.

  • i was able to change some gfx settings without a restart (the menu is on the start button on the xb1 controller), but the controls feel very loose and sloppy for sure. the nitro in particular seems to take over a second to initialize meaning its not too useful for course correction. add in the pay to win loot boxes and we have an even worse game than the last one. sad sad day for need for speed.. a flagship EA title.

have you tried to press TAB, thats the menu button

  • I do agree with the controls, either you drive a stiff board or you handbrake to a 90 degree speed killer turn.

But my main point is that the game does not look nice to me. Feels like a bland, tasteless remaster of NFS Undercover. The world is MEH, absolutely MEH. I thought they would learn from their mistakes. Instead I'm presented with an "open world" with no people on the streets, where every building looks like a steam workshop skyscraper item from Cities:Skylines. Nothing makes this this world feel unique. I feel like there's some kind of color filter present that makes it look like colors are worn down, that's driving me away from playing.

And the card system... completely unrelated. Lack of effort to do something that would actually make players feel they are upgrading a car "from scrap to stock to supercar".

I'm regretting the 5 USD I've paid for EA Access, since we all know many of us paid it for one month just to get 10 hours of this.

I'm also super lost on what to do. Guess I won't be preordering deluxe. And will try to get a normal key from the reseller that gives me the best price.

It's an OK game, fun for a couple hours, should be priced around 35 USD.

Kind of a let down for me, had high hopes that Ghost FINALLY understood how to make a proper AAA racing game. ☹️
