Why aren't the servers for need for speed most wanted 2005 online and active

So I want to know why the servers for NFS carbon and undercover are active but most wanted 2005 is not active. I've been playing this game forever and other old games and this is the only one I cannot...

    The Online Services for NFS MW 2005 (online multiplayer lobby) was shut down on August 1, 2011.

    p.s.: You can still play PC version local lan with your friends & quasi multiplayer via Gameranger, Hamachi, Tunngle... "google is your friend"  🙂
