wireless xbox 360 controller support

So I'm trying to play this game on my PC using a wireless xbox 360 controller (as I do with just about all of my pc games since my pc is in my living room hooked up to my tv and home theater setup), and the game seems unable to recognize this as an input method.  All of my other games work with this including past NFS games.  Is this a bug or is there something I can change, or is there just no support for this controller?  If the latter is true that would be very disappointing...
