It’s all to do with how many players are taking part and how many of those players are actually contributing. Try to find a better lobby with higher speed pass players, and then make friends with players who do get stuck in, or just come play with me 🙌
- @AshleeOrson Also doesn't help when some of the objectives are things that a lot of player seem to not understand, like Drafting. I've seen so many Linkup's fail because players just don't seem to know how to Draft.

From what I experienced, I get placed in the Top 3 players in linkups quite often because a lot of players in linkups don't contribute much or they have not correctly fulfilled the objectives.😃

I might just take up your offer on that.
My friends rarely play NFS Unbound, so I had been playing the game alone most of the time.
What's your in-game name? And do you play on PC or console?

I've seen so many Linkup's fail because players just don't seem to know how to Draft. There's one objective that can cause linkup failures as well. The objective that requires players to drift and then hitting the linkup barrels and props.
Sometimes, players just straight up hit the linkup barrels and props without drifting and it results in destroying the barrels and props with no points awarded / increase in progress. The barrels and props can take a while to respawn, resulting in losing time and cause possibly result in a linkup failing.
What most gamers in the linkups can't do, and since a lot of time is wasted until the task is finished, is slipstreaming, which probably 80% of gamers can't do. When we play in a party, the task is completed very quickly, if I drive alone in a linkup, it sucks, you turn your car around to drive behind another gamer, but then that gamer turns his car around too, and drives away quickly. And the next gamer too. You get the same points for helping slipstream. And exactly when that happens, you know exactly that this linkup will soon be finished without completing all the tasks.
So, a general question, are most gamers too stupid to successfully complete linkups? There was a linkup today at lunchtime, you have to complete daily tasks, otherwise you won't go to any linkups, but there were 8 gamers in the linkup, but not one was able to complete the linkup tasks, 2 rounds out of 4 rounds were completed, that can't be right If you want to follow someone to slipstream, they immediately turn around and go the other way, and so it goes on. That's awesome, what's going on there, all little children?
It might be already understood by many, but I'm writing for those who might not comprehend.
1. It's advisable for participants to start early in a drift-capable car for some challenging link-ups.
2. In slipstreaming, circling around noticeable spots at moderate speed and using the chat wheel saying "Follow me" can increase the success rate. However, failures are quite common even with these methods. As an additional note, EA's Positive Play Charter includes the following:
"Whether you’re new to gaming or have been an active player for years, we need your help to make this a community we all want to be part of."
I'm half convinced people that play linkups aren't actually reading the objectives. I even dedicated a quickchat phrase to "draft behind me" and people still don't actively try to complete these objectives.
That and the objectives where we need to DRIFT whilst smashing linkup barriers and barrels. I see players just driving straight into them. Depending on the linkup area, I've lost so many final rounds due to these issues.

maybe they can't read Haha, I wouldn't be surprised.
I'm thankful for game pass/EA play for including this game so the servers are populated, but it probably introduced a lot of kids to the game that, yeah, maybe can't or doesn't read those objectives.
Burnout paradise had the same problem: people actively not completing objectives.
Just FYI you can slipstream the police which has helped heaps in games like what you talk about, but they can be sketchy as well and so it's hit and miss, just like players, but it is an option.
