Cross Play Lagging?

I play NFS on xbox series S. And I end up playing in sessions with majority PC players.

A race from a playlist begins and I pretty much have to refrain from drafting other players because all the PC folks lag..their cars  will stop on the track cause me to crash out if I'm not in 1st..then they shoot ahead to their actual position. 

I dodge another player like this last night and drove around. When his position was fixed his car shot forward..hitting me and made my car go flying into the air. I went from 1st to 6th by the time my car was on the ground again.

Dealing with this pretty much every race. Really takes the fun out of it.
