Lagging in online open world

So for the past couple days every time I’m online and I grab a collectible or complete and objective . There is a lag that literally makes my entire game freeze for a split second . I’ve gotten busted multiple times due to this.  Especially completing link up objectives and it’s getting to be game breaking. Can’t someone help me please.
