@EA_Groguet Do you have any update on this? I’ve been playing several days but still not able to see link ups or boosted event….
I am afraid I have no new info on this. As soon as I know something else I will update this thread and let you know.

As per my & the others' earlier suspicion, I looked around & found out that everyone having this problem isn't from North America, me included. As someone earlier mentioned, using a VPN so as to bruteforce our game to connect to the US server connects you there, which also allows you to consistently get Boosted Events & Linkups. I tested as well and they do indeed appear. However, this is only a partial workaround as due to the distance between our physical location & the NA server is too far, and therefore we can only play at ridiculously high latency. This doesn't feel good in races or anything really, since everyone else would keep teleporting due to network rollback (and I suppose in their point of view, so would you).
And to explain why I could consistently get linkups during the Xbox Live free weekend a few weeks ago, there were probably a huge surge of Xbox Live players which a majority of is from NA.
Can you ask the team to look into this? This seems to be our best lead right now & might end the wild goose chase. There should be a reason as to why only the NA server can consistently get linkups & boosted events while the others cannot. Perhaps investigating the difference in server behaviour might give us an answer & could point to a solution. There could be something that's been implemented in the NA server for the linkup changes & boosted events that didn't get implemented in the other servers, or actually did implemented but is broken for some reason.
I'm playing from Malaysia btw. Aside from my location, there are also people from Australia & Japan who've confirmed having this same problem, and I believe there may be a lot others from other location having this problem as well.- 2 years ago@Peakkiwi omg, I am from Malaysia too but to connect to NA just to play linkups will make me lag so much lol which already lags so bad in any server I am in, Hope they fix this issue before the volume ends, because I cannot depend on races to earn speed pass, it's just too boring
- 2 years ago@Babyteng1 what kind of internet are you using btw? if you're on fiber broadband it shouldn't lag, especially if you're on cable & not wifi.
Anyway, even after connecting to NA, for some reason it doesn't lag that bad on linkups as opposed to races. And since the free VPN I'm using also offers connecting to Netherlands, I tried that & linkups work there as well (so I'm assuming the EU also don't have this problem). The lag is also a lot more bearable but I'm not too sure if that's just a one time thing. Need to test it out more.
If you're not using any VPN & would like to test it out, look up Proton VPN. Register for free, download the client, login & choose the server you'd like to connect to (preferably ones with the least load). When using VPN though, do take precaution when running/quitting the game by allowing some time before running/after quitting the game before turning on/off the VPN. Switching connection servers like this means the game needs to sync your save file & just rushing to connect/disconnect to/from the VPN servers could potentially desync it & ruin your save.
The EA client would warn if the save is out of sync. If you see that do wait a while before turning the VPN on/off before running/after quitting the game. It's also good to make a backup of your local save frequently, just in case anything bad happens.
