NFS Unbound doesn't launch at all since the last update.

How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Own the game on steam, try to launch it
What happens when the bug occurs? EA App opens, then closes, nothing happens after that
What do you expect to see? I expect the game to actually launch, idk what else to say???

I own the game on steam.
Since the latest update, the game simply does not launch.

I click on it, it starts up EA App, then EA App closes and nothing happens.

Already verified files twice, nothing came up.

Already contacted support, they told me the usual rehashed things like "uninstall your game uwu" yadda yadda yadda, but I can't afford that since my internet isn't fast.

If anyone here has some idea to fix this thing I'd be glad to hear it, because you see, I really like it when products that I purchase actually do what they're supposed to. Otherwise known as the Bare Minimum™.

Hey Everyone,

Thanks for letting us know what you are running into with the Volume 6 update.

If you have not please try the following steps first,

EA App - Repair your game via the EA App - Repair (Library > Tile Dots > Repair)

Steam - Verify the game in via your Steam library

Clear EA App's Cache (Top Left Menu > Help > App Recovery)

Check for other applications that may be limiting EA App or Game performance

Run the System File Checker tool, then Check for Windows and GPU updates

Check Drivers, Default to High-Performance GPU: Troubleshooting Graphics issues

Restart your device in Clean Boot mode first then try again.

If you continue running into issues launching NFS Unbound, please let us know the following:

What is your EA ID?

Which PC client do you play on?

Are you getting an error message?

If possible, share a Screenshot or Clip...

If on PC, please share a DxDiag file and an EA app Error ID Number

i have the same problem and i cant play nfs Payback. ea app is the wrostest app i ever seen seriously i cant load my fav game >☹️

@cakewithbeans for me this did not work, i have the "Old/Original Origin" app installed. When i open the game from Steam, the Origin app pops open and immidiately forces me to download the EA App or read more.... so I did what ya say, and I had my Task Manager open but there is no process for the EA App download window thats within the Origin app window, so i have no way around it.... doesnt seem like EA wants to help us and FIX the issue, wasted money on Pallace edition.... total WASTE!!

I managed to get it working thanks to some help over on Reddit (cannot count on EA support, you gotta rely on the community, that's very fun)

Here's how to launch the game:

*Prerequisite, you only have to do this once:
-Uninstall EA App
-Install Origin instead (sadly i don't know how one could manage to grab an Origin setup if you don't have one already sitting around in a drive)

*Do this everytime you want to launch NFS Unbound from Steam:
-When launching NFS Unbound from Steam, have the task manager open and ready
-Steam will prompt you to install EA App
-Using the task manager, kill the EA App process

The game should launch after all that.

That's a bandaid solution until EA App is fixed.

Quick update to the situation. I reinstalled game on SSD (used to play it from HDD), and it launches now. I even managed to get into the online session, despite the game freezing few times, when trying to load main menu.
I have no clue what happened.

i think our issues have to do with Steam not running/playing the game solely itself.... it opens this new crappy app and then bam theres our issue, and like all the $$ paid wasted cuz cannot play.... in order to possibly fix the issue, i would have to try and get a refund from Steam and tell them the problem and then buy the game on Origin/EA App whatever, i read online that its a problem between Steam and the EA App not working together or some bs like that..... maybe its not recognizing our games since the game code is actually under steam not EA that its trying to open and use????
