On the 9th of January 2024, I came back to play some online after finishing the story a month or 2 ago. Everything was working fine, all my cars, all my wraps, all my progress as you would expect. 10th of January 2024 I booted up the game and it came on like it was the first time I was booting it up (choosing difficulty and stuff) and to my surprise, everything is wiped, prompted to make a new character and all, after restarting everything and trying some quick fixes like verifying files i decided to make the character to see if my cars were still there but no, a fresh garage with nothing but the Skyline that I first pick.
I've been seeing a lot of this on forums and I've tried every fix I could find for 2hours last night to no progress. I've pretty much lost hope and this is really my last attempt to see if anyone has found any fixes or if by some miracle EA can help. I'll list below what I've tried already and just hope. I feel sorry for everyone else whose this happened to I only lost 40hours but I've seen a huge amount more with no way of fixing it.
The game is downloaded on Steam and opens through EA and the Save FIles are in One Drive for some reason.
Fixes Attempted
- Reverify Integrity Files on Steam
- App Recovery on EA
- Allow Access through the firewall
- Uninstall and Reinstall The Game
- Take out the external hard drive the game is on and re-enter
- Check One Drive Recycle Bin
The only fix I was unable to do is Recover One Drive to a previous state because I can't verify my account since I don't have access to the recovery email and it'll take 30 days for it to change to a new verification email.
