NFS Unbound now crashes at launch after working just fine for day

Hi, hello!

This is absolutely ridiculous!

NFS Unbound is now crashing at launch with a DirectX error message every time I try to launch the game. It worked perfectly fine for a couple of days and now all of the sudden it won't even open.

I have tried every troubleshooting suggestion I could find and nothing has worked so far. I have the latest drivers and version of Windows. Nothing seems to help.

I want to be able to play the game I've paid for sometime this century.

The error message is as follows:

DirectX Error

DirectX function ''dxDevice-> CreateHeap(&desc, FB_IID_PPV_ARGS(&heap))'' failed with E_IVALIDARG (''An invalid parameter was passed to the returning function.''). GPU:''NVIDIA GeForce RTX3050 Laptop GPU'', Driver 52756

  • @Torterratronmake sure to copy the NFS Unbound folder from My Documents. After that,  enter the folder and delete the cache folder. Run the game now. It should work.

  • Hi bud!

Thank you very much for the suggestion, however I had already tried that before and did not work.

As mentioned in my original message, I have pretty much exhausted all of the troubleshooting solutions that were suggested before and nothing has worked.

Either EA or NVIDIA broke the game for some systems with their latest update and haven't bothered to fix it.

Either way, I am not happy with it and will request a refund.
