Progress suddenly lost due to a known corrupted file issue

Randomly one day after weeks of grinding to unlock all of the cars I logged on to find an error saying my save file corrupted. I was presented with the options of going back or continuing and losing my save. Anytime I'd go back and restart the game the same error would pop up so I went ahead and continued. After I continued I found that my rank and speed pass level were still correct but I had lost my character and all of my cars. I have 0 clue what could have triggered this bug as I didn't do anything out of the ordinary.
