Nothing from your guide works trust us. We have tired everything short of reinstalling WIdnows for those of us on PC. Came back two years later and still can't play online what an absolute piece of work. FIX THE PROBLEM ASAP

    Hey Everyone,

Thank you for your continued reports on this issue.

The team has released a new update today with Vol 8, I wanted to check if anyone is still seeing issues connecting to the internet once you've had a moment to grab this update?

  • Hey,

First of all, it's a shame that the developers don't seem to be addressing these issues.

To answer your question, @EA_Illium , yes, after updating to Vol. 8, the problem still persists. Honestly, I don't want to go through all those files again, especially since others have done so and it hasn't been helpful.

    Here’s some more information:

    • Platform: PC
    • Version: Steam
    • I’ve checked all the recommended solutions, but none have worked.
    • When I click "Go Online," the sync starts but stops at 2/48 and 69/~248 (I don't remember the exact last number). After that, I get a notification that the sync didn’t work and that I should visit EA Support.

However, I found a solution, even though it’s not ideal. Thanks to @DCDrumsGangnam  for suggesting that deleting the SaveGame file allows you to go online again. It works—I can go online now.

For anyone on PC who wants to go online, try this:

    1. Open File Explorer.
    2. Navigate to Documents on the left side. (If Documents isn’t there, go to: C:\Users\"Your PC Username"\Documents)
    3. Open the "Need For Speed(TM) Unbound" folder.
    4. Either delete the "SaveGame" folder or create a new folder named Backup, then drag and drop the "SaveGame" folder into it.
    5. Start the game.
    6. When the game asks "Go Online," press YES. Otherwise, you’ll need to start from step 1 again.
    7. You should now be able to join online, but all your progress will be lost.

I’m going to test if it’s possible to "cheat" your story money, at least to buy back your cars. Swapping the "old" SaveGame file with the new one that connects online probably won’t work, as the settings are likely saved in the SaveGame.

And to Quote @DCDrumsGangnam : "WTF EA."

    Cheers

  • I'm beginning to get the feeling that NFS Unbound is just completely broken and just doesn't want to connect online. PLEASE FIX THIS

Hi @komiklool, Thanks for the update and for sharing a workaround with the community!

To confirm on the save that fails to load into MP, do you remember getting an error message if your last session was unable to auto-save? If not, do you know how many cars and wraps you have across SP and MP?

  • Hey @EA_Illium , I hope I understood your message correctly.

I wasn't able to go online at the beginning. When I first started the game, I had computer-related connection issues with the internet, so I pressed "Play Offline" when initializing the game for the first time. I believe this was the problem in my case. Since then, I haven't been able to go online or connect to the EA server. As a result, I haven't been able to access any cars or wraps across both single-player and multiplayer modes.

In my case, I never experienced any errors with auto-save in single-player mode. Multiplayer, however, was not possible due to the "Connection to the Server Lost" error (I provided more details in my last post).

If anyone knows how the save file, especially the part related to online connections, is saved and processed, please feel free to contact me—I'm really interested in understanding this. I work as a software engineer, and I'm curious about how this issue occurs. A similar problem appears in the game "Last Epoch," where if you choose offline, you're never able to go online unless you create a new character. It could be a similar way of handling online/offline accounts.

Guess what it's been almost one year from this post and still can't connect online. I've reinstalled the game in the hopes that it might be fixed but it's not. At this point it's more than annoying but the greedy SOB's and EA don't care, all they care about is filling their pockets
