Be a Pro - Let us play in the Juniors/AHL

Another copy and paste request because we were ignored AGAIN as usual.

“This year has not been a good year for NHL for obvious reasons like we can’t play because of the bad bugs that are in it but in the mean time since I can’t play it I figure I can ask some questions about other things to maybe get some information on it hopefully such as why the juniors and AHL was removed from Be a Pro.

not sure if above statement still stands, we won’t know if NHL 23 is full of bugs like NHL 22 was… NHL 22 never got fixed so hopefully they spent a little more than the bare minimum to fix Be a Pro for 23…

They were such good parts of the game and were very important and now the Be a Pro 21 and 22 are just boring to play because it’s not fun anymore. You are chosen first overall so often, and even if you play bad you are drafted highly. You have to do really really bad just to get drafted in the second round which is so unrealistic.

honestly the Be a Pro in 19 was way better even if it wasn’t that good. If the new Be a Pro didn’t make it so easy to get drafted first it would be better. Like working your way up through the juniors. That was the most fun. Even players in real life can put up 80-100 points in the juniors but doesn’t mean they will get drafted top ten. In this game now we get 2 assists and we are drafted in top ten.

I don’t know, I am just waiting to be able to play the game I paid $80+ for so I was hoping the least I could get is some information about why the juniors and AHL was removed and if it will come back.

PUT THE JUNIORS AND AHL BACK IN

REMOVE THE STUPID BORING FORCED SUPERSTAR “STORYLINE”

At the very least… We just want a semi-authentic experience of “being a pro”… to train, work your butt off in the juniors… show that your actually WORTH a high draft pick… that you actually deserve it…

not just automatically get picked top 5 because you got a single assist… yawn.

@CreemoreTorch Your opinionis valid, in a simulator anything is possible. This isn't a simulator. Its a Be A Pro Mode, which should more aptly be called Be A Star Mode.

The purpose is to let you pretend to be the next major All Star, the next McDavid. They aren't robbing you of being a pro, just guaranteeing you're a star.

And counterpoint, you are a goalie. You get drafted by Montreal. The starter is an 84, you are a 70, the AHL goalie is a 69 and the AHL backup is a 68. Montreal is going to play you as a Backup Goalie, you've got no choice in the matter. The game is actually doing to you exactly what you want. They can't afford to send you tithe AHL, prove yourself in just 2p games. And you are welcome!

@CreemoreTorch Also, why ignore the storyline. It adds a lot of flavor. Its not doing it well, but it could, if they spent money to develop it.

Its funny. When they gave us all these things in early editions SO MANY people complained it sucked not making it to the first line sooner. Now, in 21 they gave us the speed pass and a whole new, much smaller group, isn't happy with it. What should the do? * off 100 to give the 10 or 15 people post and griping here what they want? Or give the 1000's that loved the mode in 21 the same game?

The answer is compromise and adapt, but they aren't doing that. They are sticking with their market research that says more people wanna Be A Star, so ask them to change the name and soldier on.

Oh, and please start complaining about the bugs, so they might fix those.

    @ColoradoChronic

    1. Agreed 100%

    2. I mean, that sounds fun? Not really my thing. I don't want to adventure in my NHL game, I'll play Dragon Age instead.

    3. I think that would be cool as well, scrimmages and want not. Mini games for the training exercises and well.

    4. Yeah GM Connected. It won't make them any money so why do it? Also, it means to play offline, I need to pay for Xbox Live or Playstation Network (which I don't so it completely stop me from being able to play those modes). Firm no, from me. Can't agree.

    5. Before we ask for new videos that will get old FAST, can we just focus on bug fixes please. Seriously, if every game we saw our pro walk onto the ice like we see then walk off the ice (in one of two ways) it wouldn't mean anything.

    6. 100% agree

  • Try playing BAP as a goalie, which is what I do exclusively. Doesn't matter where you get drafted, 1st overall or 250th. You're 17 years old and forced into the NHL (which, technically, isn't even legal irl) with rating of 70 (at best). Then, because you're 20 rating points back of your starter, you play 20 games, maybe, and have to listen to the announcers talk about how terrible the rookie is doing, and how he'll never win the Calder unless he improves his play while teams torch you for 7 goales a game.

We. Need. The. Juniors. Back. Please.

  • Can't remember, maybe it was NHL 14/15/16/17. It was a while ago, I would do exactly that, start on the 3rd line in CHL as a 16 year old and play 3 seasons, grind and get drafted. Sometimes I'd make the NHL squad, sometimes the AHL squad...

back when the game had substance.

Be a Pro now is broken, it is trash. And I say that because of where it was to where it is now, they could have that, they could have live the life, they could have what they have now... but they don't.
    They have one option.

    this game has tanked.

  • I agree. Be A Pro needs fixing for the offline gamer. Most players rated 77 or lower are assigned to the AHL in the other game modes so why wouldn’t that be the case in Be A Pro.
