A couple of years ago the release window for NHL moved from early September to early October. At the same time we stopped getting teasers or any kind of info around the NHL awards and started getting info in August.
There's been nothing officially announced for NHL 24, but if it's coming I'd expect a similar schedule. I guess we'll find out in a month or two.
One can only hope that it is cancelled. NHL 23 is so broken and unbalanced that I can barely manage to play one game.
July is gonna be FIFA talk as June was Madden month. So hopefully towards the end of August we get blessed with NHL 24 information and a beta to test out full cross-play. Madden and FIFA always come 1st with their news especially around the Summer Game Show each year now. So we get the information a 4-6 weeks before launch.

I honestly wouldn’t even be surprised if they went with Auston Matthews again either.
- Bahamuta3 years agoNew Ace@KlariskraysNHL I thought there was no more FIFA.
https://earlygame.com/fifa/ea-fifa-part-ways-will-fifa-24-exist-infantino - @Bahamuta It's forever FIFA to me. Saying EA Sports FC makes it seem bleh even though it's still gonna be the same game minus like 1 real life tournament and it won't say FIFA.
- Yeah the award and the draft got me excited, not to mention all the trades so far.
Cover athletes.
Duchene in Dallas Stars jersey
Or
Why not..
tomorrow star,
Leo Carlsson Ducks.
And last but not least, some gameplay info and video from NHL 24 would be sweeeet.. My cover athlete choices would be in no particular order…
- Connor McDavid
- Jack Hughes
- Cale Makar
- Connor Bedard
- @Sega82mega Duchene isn't worthy of a cover. Leo Carlsson isn't officially an NHLer until he plays his games.
McDavid should be the obvious choice if they truly are bringing the goodness with NHL 24. I'm sure they will throw in some female on the cover because it makes them look good. I'd personally love to see a MacKinnon and Crosby cover together. - TTZ_Dipsy3 years agoHero+
Ew, no more McDavid either; I don't need to see his pouty scowl every time I boot up the game.
Either put a cup winner on the cover or go a simple legends/historic moment route - so much to choose from
