Nice. Too bad we can't switch off retired numbers in Custom Franchise Mode otherwise we could actually have Gretzky wearing his real number as well...It's possible in the regular franchise mode but not in the custom mode, you know, the mode where you actually would NEED to switch off retired numbers in order to play with the historic rosters mentioned by EA in the above screenshot. Unless you're completely fine with Gretzky wearing #98 of course...I can't believe the incompetency. Absolutely ridiculous.

@SvenArne123 I love how it says “historic level of customization” but it doesn’t actually let you customize anything other than the amount of teams and their schedules…. You can’t have expansion drafts during the career… you can’t edit ANY players during the career… can’t unretire 99 FOR Gretzky to wear… can’t actually customize anything except for a few basics….That’s a big swing and an ENORMOUS colossal miss

If anyone found how to switch off retired numbers in custom league franchise let me know, cause I've looked everywhere and I can't find it.Seriously, this is ridiculous beyond belief.As someone who only plays with vintage rosters, custom league was the only reason I even considered buying the game, so I could finally do a throwback season with accurate number of teams, but not being able to put Gretzky in the #99 shirt, that's completely ruins it.

How does this not get noticed when they test the game?This retired jersey issue for Gretzky is also in Playoff Mode and I have posted about it every year in Sept/Oct when the game comes out. They added the retired jerseys option in playoff mode a year or so ago but it doesnt work for Gretzky. He's hard coded across the league as retired. But retired jerseys off for Gretzky does work in Season Mode and regular Franchise Mode for some reason but not custom Franchise and not Playoff mode. It's so stupid this has not been fixed in Playoff mode for so long and now how long before Custom Franchise?
