I had to start a topic for this because it feels right.A forum member asked me why I really hang here on this board when I actually dont talk about the game, at first I got a bit insulted, but when I let it sink in, his right.I have lived my life around this serie sence 15… and put my soul and heart around it, mainly because my love for hockey and its been fun to have a place to share with all of you. Thats probably why I still stick around, its hard to let go of something you put down so much time and effort on. It became a part of myself, perhaps too big part of myself.Thats why it's time to move on, at least for now, if I som day decide to pick up the game again I then know where to find you.I hope you all find peace with the game and dont take it too serious. I don't blame anyone who quits this series. They are never going to fix this game and it just gets more and more broken every year. This is probably my last year playing. I'm tired of spending money on a game that has so little effort put into it.

But it's 💯% me, no worries buddy.Oh, it's a long story, but to keep it short, mentally ill, I was not in a happy place, NHL (gaming) became my escape from my own feelings, the game had to take a lot of my frustration, until one day when I almost had an psychosis, I cant really even today say what happen, but it scared the * out of me, it was my wake up call, from that day I have tryed to connect with my own feelings and get to know myself on a higher level.So unfortunately, gaming and NHL and even this place for some reason, remind me of a time in my life that wasent great. Even though I still miss some of those days.But thats also a reason why I need to step back and take a breather.But it feels like breaking up from a girl, because even though this place can be really negative, I still feel I belong, thats why im so open about it, here on this board, in text, you guys dont scare me.And im truly greatful to all the kind words in this thread, it make me feel like it was not all for nothing.I got a lot to be thankful from this place, just such thing how my English has become so much better, and thank you for indulgence there, ya all.And I really hope I one day can return to be one of you all, just playing the game and enjoying life.Be careful to each other and again, thank you all for the kind words and support, goes straight to my heart.Peace (hockey)Brothers. @Sega82mega Wow. I feel you, man. As a person who also struggled with pretty severe mental health issues in the past (listen to your DARE officers, kids!) I also used the NHL games as an escape from that reality.I know what it feels like to have something somewhat "ruined" for you because it reminds you of bad times in your life. I'm sorry that gaming is that thing for you. I hope you figure out your emotions and can lead a more happy life. You SEEM to be doing so already judging by the way you talk to people on here.Anyway, I want to say "thanks" for opening up and I want to let you know that you're extremely welcome here.Keep your head up!

@Sega82mega That forum member was me and my intention was NOT to insult you, my friend. I was simply curious why you preferred to comment on the "meta" of the forum over the actual game itself.

I don't want you to leave but if that's what you want to do then more power to you. I took a large break from these forums when I wasn't playing the games for 4 years or so as well so I get it.

If I may ask a question before you go: Why have you decided not to purchase the game? What made you give it up?
