I would prefer if it would be cut down to a text you could scroll through and read questions you feel are interesting.
30 min videos is a lot of talk. Hard to keep focus when not everything is designed for your own taste.* Also good job sleeveless, been a EA hockey profil as long as I can remember. You/he does an important job keeping the community updated 👏 .. cool cap, recognize that logo..

So still no buy from me after this patch. NHL 23 is better in every way except presentation and customization to UI.

This is my concern as well. This is the first time in 10 years I actually get realistic powerplay numbers. Anywhere from 2-6 between both teams a game. I get that HUT and CHEL players don’t want games taken out of their hands, but for offline franchise the CPU taking penalties is literally the only way to get actual power plays.
In either ‘20 or ‘21 they nerf’d CPU penalties so hard that with the slider at default you got no penalties called against the CPU, and with the slider cranked all the way up you might see like 1 power play every 3 to 5 games. The CPU wouldn’t even attempt a poke check or stick lift unless they had an almost 100% certainty of being successful which is how we are getting most CPU penalties called right now.
I just wish they had the ability to tune game play differently between modes. Because if penalties go back to being non existent on the CPU I am done with this game. It just completely ruins everything in franchise mode

20 minutes?!?! This game is not designed to play on 20 minute periods, that’s your problem lol. Not the penalties

" Things not addressed in 24 may be addressed [next year]"
Then what was the point of letting 23 rot last year? The excuse to keep AI pens in ONLINE makes no sense, does he know that the humans playing can take pens still? No changes to the pressure system is pretty dumb. I can rag the puck if I wanted to get full pressure. I can force a defensive turnover while under the effects of full pressure and have it carryover into my opponents zone. The 5 seconds of lasting full pressure needs to be at most 2-3 seconds when out of the ozone.

Exactly. My team has straight up been cycling the puck in the OTHER teams zone with the previous pressure still fully engaged against us.
There is a glitch where pressure never regains if a team calls a timeout.
Countless lobby and connections bugs.
Stick handling and puck protect scheme is the worst it's even been; it feels like you are constantly fighting the game to manuever the stick how you intend to. The skill stick was the single best feature of NHL series and they've dismantled it and sent it back 10 years.

I give this guy massive props to be out there and talking about the game no matter what people say about the product in general. He does not have an easy time doing this job after what has been going on the last few years with such a horrible product. Good on EA and the NHL devs for getting our there and talking to the community.
Now that being said, I have 1 thing that really irked me. The fact that he said that goalies are in a really good place right now. Is that for real? He says something about goalies having .900 plus save percentages and I'd like to know where those save percentages are? You can beat the goalie with the same move over and over and over in this game on any level so really, how can that be in a good place? Goalies in 24 are horrible. They do the dumbest things, shots go through goalies like thwy aren't wearing equipment.
The other thing that kind of bugged me was saying that if there is a whistle they should still be under pressure and that a whistle wouldn't stop the pressure. If you have a real life situation like a long time in the zone and get a whistle and a line change, why are the players still super slow and fatigued? Makes zero sense.
Other than those things, everything sounds pretty good and am cautiously optimistic about what the patch will be. Once again, EA does not have a good track record of improving things.
