We Deserve Better Quality Than This! Unacceptable To Us Consumers

Quality for NHL 24 is coming to an end already and way before GWC. I myself find it boring because the offline game modes got no love really and the online modes are full of toxic E-sports kids who exploit the game to their advantage. Played a known contender in Rivals who kept going for Michigan's which I stopped. His highest overall was a 90 but everything else under 80 overall and he was faster, could hit my players without penalty by charging at them... This has happened so many times in this game I just accept it and move on because there is no point in playing a video game I paid over $100 that is so poorly made...

Played hockey all my life and to call this NHL 24 is a joke! If EA NHL is going with the whole Fortnite mentality they might as well break ties with the NHL licensing and go all Arcade because clearly it is furthering itself away from the NHL brand... Watch or play a competitive game of hockey and see where the players position themselves... In no way does a goalie start flopping around like a fish when exhausted they try their very best to regain energy. I play this position once in awhile myself and being fairly new to IRL goalie, NHL 24 makes it look like goalies are useless! Might as well put an empty net in instead...All because the whiny E-sports exploiter kids cried wolf and wanted goalies to become swiss cheese so they could exploit the game more as they become the priority catering group and the rest of the community gets ignored, especially the offline.

We have asked for decent quality content and we get a gimmicky arcade gong show. There comes a time where EA NHL needs to stop focusing on microtransactions and instead put focus on the community and consumer purchases. More players would come to improve population if we had something enjoyable to play...

What bothers me is at the start communication was flawless and now there is no engagement other than Aljo doing all the work, which is highly appreciated. Even Clappy is posting way more than normal despite the community roasting the series because well this game isn't good! Mike might think so but truthfully it is worst than the Buffalo Sabres hockey team...

For what we pay, we deserve better and this isn't acceptable.

EA NHL will continue to lose its population if they keep going on this track of disappointment. Kids aren't even interested in this game. Only ones who think the game is good are the exploiters who never touch grass and have no life outside of this game...

@BIGRlTCHYI'm really sorry, but NHL 24 is garbage and I'm done with it. HUT Squad Battle has become a UFC 6 advertisement presented by the UI, so unplayable crap where it looks like a destruction derby on the ice. And as for HUT Rivals, if they don't fix the critical mistakes regarding cross passes to a free player in front of the goal, then it's the same garbage as SB. Since none of the players don't play hockey anymore, it's just chasing the puck and a boring style of skating to score repetitive goals from the same situation. Goodbye NHL, goodbye EA and I hope that those who participated in sinking one of the most beautiful games will go to the bottom together with this project. I regret the money I put into this mess of a year in good faith. Sincerely, Lukas, NHL player since NHL99.

You can easily do a Michigan, that rarely happens in a game, but you can't flip the puck out ,something that happens all the time ,and people wonder why this series is heading in the wrong direction

@ThoorWoolf I hear you I used to be a competitive player when it came to Rivals/Champs but now very casually do I play those game modes. You simply can't make realistic hockey plays anymore like in real life. In NHL 24 you can literally cause the D-man whether human or AI controlled to slow themselves down due to if they go into a back skate by the blueline they lose energy. Once that happens you basically are on a 2 on 0 with the goalie and just have to go cross crease or shoot from the top of the circle short side and for some reason the goalie reacts to quickly letting it squeek in. Never in my life playing or watching hockey has a goalie done that when a player shoots from that area on a regular basis. Happens once in awhile but for it to be this consistent is ridiculous.

@Treatmentworke66 That makes no sense to me why they made this happen. I just slap it down but then again it sometimes doesn't work but yet we pass do a Michigan with the click of a button.

The game had a good eye for a little bit on direction but when putting pen to paper it didn't meet the walk they talked.

Now it became a complete gimmick of arcade mentality and the simulation of real hockey is no more.

@BIGRlTCHY They nerfed the puck flip ,so the pressure system would work as intended so the defensive team would be at a major disadvantage while the offense has basically none , where it should actually be the other way around

I noticed this myself. Seems Defense and goaltending always get the short end of the stick when it comes to stick to puck physics but lets add advantage to hip checks. I'm saying this as EASHL Enforcer D-man who is a big hitter. Hip checks were more consistent back in the day and were mostly done by the boards as open ice is legal but had to be above the opponents knees to prevent clipping. My cousin Terry who played in the BCHL/WHL was known for this during his time in Junior. He was small but could hip check like crazy. When I played Midget the rule was to time the hit so it was intendment to injure. Anyways Defense and goaltending really need a overhaul as offense is way to OP now.

For people who have played hockey as professionals or amateurs, they understand our thinking. Even players who have already played something with controllers in hand. At the moment, this game is at the stage where they could play 1 on 1 on the ice. I loved combinations, involving my head and tactics, this was what motivated and fulfilled me. The question I keep repeating in my head is why EA doesn't reach out to players before the release of a new series to test the game, say flaws, etc... And then they release the game. At the same time, so many of those vintages have already been released that they must know the shortcomings and loopholes that players are abusing.

@ThoorWoolf I do know they had Nasher, Pavel Barber and Zac Bell do some motion capture which seemed very close to release of the game. Usually is done way before then but Raymond Sawada passed away on April 10th. He was one of the motion capture members for EA for many years.

Guy knew the game of hockey and I noticed if they use NHL 23's gameplay with NHL 24 this might fix the gameplay tbh. Theory was tested offline using the same tuner and seemed to work well with the system.

Defending is hard. It takes skill. Running around hip checking people is not skill. If you're just running around trying to land hip checks, I can see what you're having difficulty in defending.
