AI in 2025 NHL
Can someone explain to me why the AI in NHL 2025 (maybe/probably 2026 too) is so terrible? When they're against us, they win almost every face-off, score a goal every three shots, make great passes...

Community ManagerIn real hockey/NHL, sure, a player can have a designated defensive zone, but you don’t just stay in that zone. Generally there’s a man-to-man thing going on which does require you to move around outside of your zone.
I get that. It's not realistic to stay in position 100% of the time. And normally, teammates cover each other. We're talking about how the AI behave though. Which is identical on both sides. The big differences are how the humans are controlling their players as well as which strategies you have set.
The AI on both sides are the same though. With the exception to varying overalls.
Also, my comment was more direct towards online play in WoC. You're playing BaP and are obviously more reliant on the AI. Hopefully, we'll see them improve more over time.
EA_Aljo in my experience, my teammates leave people open in the slot all of the time where a center should be. Then I; as a winger need to cover that which according to you throws the whole thing out of whack.

This is completely untrue. No way. Idk if you play this game or not but if you spent 5 minutes on it you know this would not be true. Maybe on pro difficulty or something but not at the harder difficulties.
My teammates are completely incapable of carrying the puck into the zone on superstar (and likely all star too). They lose it almost immediately by just skating straight into a defender. My AI teammates on defense make to most incompetent passes in our D zone causing a turnover and then goal. The opposing AI never does that.
and the AI goalies are unbelievably good. Whereas my goalies are normal. I could have Kaprizof shoot wide open in the slot and that’ll get saved 9.5/10 times. I’m talking be a pro here
