I see others have posted separate threads on basic game requirements, so here's another.
Will Nhl25 bring back the classic controls that were removed in the 24 edition?
Many of us require/enjoy the classic controls and were unable to play last year's game.
New features, preorders, and other discussions really have no relevance to us until this is answered.
Until then we're all still with nhl23.
Community ManagerYou have your chance here to provide feedback on why the Hybrid controls won't work. I have asked this several times now on different threads and nobody seems to be able to answer this, yet they keep saying those controls won't work. Can you please give examples of how the near identical controls are not working?
Speaking of controls. Any chance to re locate puck protect from L3 and reverse hitting from R3?

Community ManagerIf you use Hybrid, reverse hitting has been removed from R3. I'm not aware of any other changes so the best I can advise is to get a controller that allows for remapping of the buttons to a different profile. I personally use an Elite 2, but there are others that have this feature as well.

I understand relocating buttons. It’s just unfortunate sometimes that speed boost and puck protect are both tied to L3. When you’re speed boosting with L3, and then you go to make a deke with right stick, you end up puck protecting instead. Any thoughts on this?
My suggestion was just leaving the 94 controls as an option (simplified). the other options may still be available just for new/ newer users to have something they can use until they feel comfortable. the new game style with hitting a button to do a Michigan shouldn't be a thing either. my idea would allow new/ first time players a chance to jump right into the action. I'd like the NHL community to continue to grow and allow more users to want to purchase/ play the game so it can continue to expand. I'm sure people with physical limitations would also benefit from simplified version of the controls as well. I'm hoping I covered all the bases when I speak for those in favor of the 94 control options still being incorporated into gameplay in NHL 25. Also, what you are suggesting is already the 94 control set up to use the joystick to win draws but using the square x circle and triangle to perform the two various shot types pass and hit. Community ManagerShooting, passing and hitting are all on the face buttons as they were with the NHL 94 controls. Again, the only difference is using the stick to win faceoffs so it's hard to understand how the Hybrid controls are not usable by those that prefer NHL 94 controls.
Skills stick is best control if u have skill playing
I loved the controls in previous year's, it took awhile to figure out NHL 24 controls, though I did eventually get used to it. However, my son, who plays less than I do, stopped playing NHL with me, as he hated the hitting in the new controls and there was no way to "change controls" so that the hitting was the same as previous years. I loved playing with him, as he got so excited about maxing out the injuries in a game. Now he won't be playing again with this not being an option in controls. I will play, as I did get used to it, it just sucks not being able to play my franchise with my son.
I only use 94 controls because Of my difficulties with my hands 3 buttons is easy and fun I can't do the dekes I just score and check it's why I play. I feel like an octopus in nhl 24 I can't make combinations with my fingers work and score on a computer at the same time
