Finding Bronze Teams in EASHL 3v3

So my friends and I just picked up NHL 25. Some of them are semi-experienced, most of us are new. We regularly play Fifa and really enjoy the Pro Clubs mode. Naturally we were drawn to the World of Chel experience. 

That being said, we are AWFUL. I think we are like 2 - 30. We realize it's going to be a long road to learn the game. I am personally spending time in the practice and training modes as well as playing against the computer to learn the controls and flow of the game.  

I do notice that whenever we play 3v3 or 6v6, the game doesn't really seem to have a matchmaking system. All of us are the lowest level Bronze you can possibly be. We typically play against teams that have platinum or even diamond rated players. Does the game eventually match you up against bronze level teams?

I ask because it seems like a lost cause to invest so many hours into a game, just to be crushed by diamond players every match.
