Wind Up Hitting needs to be Removed. Absolute garbage. Put hitting back to what it was on NHL 23 and years before that. Wind up hitting is completely unrealistic.
It is said that Hip check and Reverse hitting is getting nerfed so hopefully we can get hitting back to what it was. The one thing i cant stand is they couldve patched Both Hip check and Reverse hit to make 25 a better game but didnt do so. Really ruined the game In my opinion.
Community ManagerI couldn't agree more. If it were up to me, there would be no Truculence.
Adjust the "truculence" perk as well.. instead of it giving you a magnet/vacuum effect(take that completely out of the game), just give more power to the contact of the hit, more of a chance it will put the player down.

EA_Aljo the vacuum magnet effect was on 23 and years before . Thats why people complained which seemed to be why they changed it to this absolute trash wind up hitting literally not realistic at all if you've ever played up hockey in real life. I've played my whole life and not once have i ever flailed forward like you see in this game lol. Hitting was so much better in 23 than in 24/25. You also got to realize if hitting is as timed as it is now Ping comes into play heavy. If you play people with 90+ ping the lag could create a missed hit or at the very least a soft hit. Again there was zero reason for the Hitting to get changed but that's what EA does unfortunately. They take stuff that really doesn't need a change just needs a tweak and ruins it. I think the funniest part about it is They change hitting the last 2 years has been this wind up hitting basically timed. But failed to do anything till 26 with guys spinning around like tops going for the hip check😅I mean come on...
I'll try to find some online EASHL matches in NHL23 to test, will be tough with Matchmaker only as the only way to connect to online games.
Community ManagerCan you get a video showing the vacuum effect without using Truculence? I've confirmed it doesn't exist. It's a simple down and up movement. Or you can use Total Control if you need it to be easier. I personally like this style of hitting. It feels like it takes more skill and has a better feeling in general than just aiming the right stick and running in to someone.
It's not hard, it is unnecessary. Then why not make hitting a 15 button combo, that would make it even MORE skill based!! 🙄

Truculence adds some hit assistance. Otherwise, there's no magnet or vacuum effect. I'm a little confused about your statement though. You want hitting to require skill, but the new system is too hard for you? Winding up for hits is more realistic than just running into someone. It also takes more skill. So, how was the old system of hitting more skill based than the current one?
