What mode are you playing? WoC has different color indicators for each position.
I'm playing HUT.
Since there's no HUT Rush, it's all 6 vs. 6.
Coloured indicators would be a big help, especially if they paired that with a consistent vision passing icon (a 5th button would have to be added for this to work).
In one of the other threads about the vision passing not showing colours or being consistent, I've meant to respond by saying I'm playing PS5 now.
I noticed that neither of my controllers have the colours the older ones for Playstation had.
Maybe this had something to do with the reasoning for leaving the vision passing icons grey on the PS5 version, because I see vids of ppl playing Xbox and they still have their vision passing icons coloured and so do my Xbox One/Series X controller's buttons.
Pair that with not having any idea how the icons are decided to represent each player when they cycle, and I find that by the time I can figure out what button to press, I've already been blocked or had the puck stolen. The vision passing is, in a lot of ways, a detriment now.

Hello. The lack of colors is intended so that it matches the current PS5 controller design. Which, does not have colored buttons.

Not a wise choice (even for Sony). The classic colours could still be applied. There's nothing saying you shouldn't.
If all the buttons are coloured grey people wouldn't get confused by the passing icons being coloured. It's not like you're making a green coloured icon when it's representing a red button.
As you said, even CHEL has colour to identify who's who out there, and I don't assume those would have to be coordinated with the controller's button colours.

Hi EA_Aljo is there any expectation to fix this? Using the icon passing in PS5 is a detriment to use now.
With the way each player changes its icon with no way to predict what it could be next, having a gray blob above their head isn't very helpful. On the contrary, they more now just get in the way.
Without seeing any colour to the icons above their heads, you have to really focus hard to distinguish whether it's a circle or a square icon. Not everyone has the biggest 4k monitor to play on, or the best eyesight. Chalk this one up to an accessibility feature if it'll get it more attention to be fixed.
Just because Sony took away the colours from their buttons doesn't mean you have to eliminate the discerning features of your game to match.

The lack of color is not a bug so I don't see it being addressed. I'll pass on the feedback for you though.
