NHL 25 Gameplay First Look

It should be mentioned that this video appears to be done in June. In another promo video one of the brothers mention having good hands for June. The build would at least be late spring. 

Pretty much every single year we've shown gameplay, the general consensus is that it's a copied and pasted NHL 15, 16, 20, etc. Chances are good that's not going to be the case when you actually get your hands on it. It's very easy to judge the game based on watching someone play. It's a whole different thing to actually play it yourself. You also have to keep in mind not everyone plays the same way. Especially when it comes to varying levels of skill/experience. 

It also takes time to adapt to the changes that come with each new game. Watching these same people play after spending a dozen hours with it is probably going to be a lot different than watching them play it for the first time. They'd be using the new skating mechanics better, adjusting to the AI players, getting down the new one timers, etc. Not to mention, 2 humans on the same team take time to build chemistry. So, hopefully, you all can keep an open mind and find out for yourself rather than base whether or not the game is good on watching someone else play a single game. I imagine if you all laced up  the skates and hit the ice with the Hughes brothers, it'd take some time to get up to their level ;)

I get what you’re saying. There have been plenty of times where I have gotten my hands on a game and it felt way better than it looked on pre-release. This game may very well be the best version of NHL in a long time. 

I think you’re missing the general consensus that everyone is really confused as to why this is the only gameplay we’re being shown. Even a video where it’s just a couple of the devs playing showing off some of the new features would have been much more informative than watching this video. We are only a few days away from deluxe release and it’s almost like you guys don’t even care if people buy the deluxe version or not. It’s just really weird.

Not to mention, EA is doing themselves a disservice by having the gameplay uploaded in 30fps at 1080P.

Upload a 4K, 60FPS gameplay video with people who can exemplify the new mechanics and that would've done so much more to drive interest, capture virality due to the community's excitement in seeing new features and get the game trending for the right reasons.

It does seem somewhat limited in its 'boost'.. but the video effects added by EA to this video make it difficult to determine that conclusively. 

Its not unbelievable at all if you have been in this community for ~ 2 years. They do this all the time

We don't have any details on hitting in 25. We'll have to wait for more details to be released or wait for feedback from the community when early release happens Friday.

When the change was made, it ended up causing new issues so we had to revert it back for the duration of 24. I'll report back if I can share anything about hitting in 25.

Absolutely brutal....skipping this franchise for a third year in a row and at this point, probably forever....what the hell happened to EA??

Where, exactly, are the presentation changes that were supposed to be coming after the dev crew screwed things up and removed full presentation? Can we get an answer or what???
