Okay, now that I’ve read the blog post:
- can we edit attributes within a franchise?
- I take it we can’t edit the position and HAVE to go through the conversation engine?
- will players start retiring at a more realistic time instead on 90% of them playing into their 40’s?
- will the expansion draft allow for more than one team?
- will we be able to add expansion teams midway through a franchise and not only at the start?
We’ve been asking for editing players since they removed it in 2021. Crazy how 4 full years later and we still don’t have it. I’m positive we can’t edit them still since they definitely would’ve highlighted that in their video.
the conversation engine looks sooooooo annoying and tedious lol.
that’s why the won’t give us more than 25 years as a GM, it’ll take 25 years IRL to get through the conversations.
as usual, a neat idea but not great implementation.. way too heavy on it.
there’s tons of new menus, some that are kind of insignificant in my opinion so if the menu responsiveness is as slow as it has been for decades, franchise mode is gonna be even more of a chore.

We cant even blame lack of effort. I assume it was quite a bit of work to get all these conversation choices added to the game, but I’m betting it would’ve been a lot easier to just open up editing and leave the new conversations for the no trade clauses/contract negotiations.
I’ll still give them kudos for the idea they were going for, though.

They deserve a pat on the back for actually putting some effort into the mode (not devs fault for lack of effort, that comes from management and what they’re told to work on)
I don’t really care for the conversation system as we all know how it worked before in past years and how.. bad it was. If it’s better, then I’ll insert my foot in my mouth. But as of now, just to edit lines seems like a chore. Changing playing position/style looks like a chore/gamble. Is it locked to one player per offseason? It’s a step in the right direction at least…
just miffed that they did all this work, which is appreciated (time will tell how well it actually works out though), and they hardly did anything we’ve asked for, for years. We got goalie widget which is a huge W. Contract revamp is awesomebut like everything that was implemented, I’m hesitant to jump for joy since they’ve promised they’ve worked on the AI GM’s/trade logic etc quite a few times before and it’s still as awful as ever
this revamp is a big make or break moment.
also having an answer to the question “why can’t we edit players / edit strategies anymore” would go a long ways for trust. It’s been 4 years now of constant dodging/ignoring those questions from tons of us players

I am reserving judgement for when I have played a bit. The changes look interesting and I am happy with how much work they put into it. Will be interesting to play with and see if its clunky or if they are impactful changes.
