I beleive it already search the best game location by default and only switch to a larger area after some time searching.
It's way better like this imo, if everyone start using only best location, it make the search a lot longer after peak hours. I really only get bad ping once in a while when I play really late in the night like past 2-3am
I rarely find a game with good ping. Last year with best game location, searches were quick and easy. There was no reason to change this, as giving the option to the player is the best choice.
