Sadly, there is a flaw to this thought process. Coming from a player who is mainly offline but started to play CHEL recently with my nephew and his friends, there has to be a reason to look at the team and builds due to the lack of balance the games has for matchmaking and some of the abilities that can be applied does make it to a point where it is not fun to play those high level teams or players as they just spam skills and not actually play hockey (yes, we learn to cut them off and they stop scoring but it sucks the fun out of the game).
The first issue is the fact that here is no tier system for matchmaking. Why would any player want to get put against max level players every game when they are silver or bronze. I know rank is only part of it but they do overuse abilities which make the game extremely boring and a negative experience.
Please explain the level of fun a player can have if they keep getting high scores against them or no time of attack due to going against max players and certain builds that are used in over usage?
This is why players leave before or during games. We had one game where it was on the same skill level for all players out of 10 and it was the only game that was actually enjoyable. Not really great odds. We will stay for games even if we are outmatched but its not an experience that makes us want to continue playing the game.
