Can’t press RT in main menu to collect objectives. But it works in game?
I can press RT in game to pass and on my regular XBOX homepage but on NHL I can not press RT to view objectives and collect my rewards

Tried that and also tried shutting Xbox down and restarting and that also did not work

When you shut your Xbox down, did you perform a hard restart or did you just turn it off and on again?
Also, check to see if a firmware update is available for your controller under Settings > Devices & connections > Controllers & headsets.
