Get completely stuck on the buy a free agent menu in season mode. PS5

So whenever I go into the “buy free agents” menu in season mode i can’t get out of it. No matter what button i press nothing happens. The game is responding to my inputs when I move up,down,side to side but no way to buy or exit the free agents list. There’s no way to get out of it so i have to close the game completely and re launch everything. PS5
