they need to take into consideration who is playing the game as well. everyone who buys this game doesn't have the cat like reflexes as a young adult. I have a hard time dekeing so I have to rely on speed and maneuverability but I'm not a computer that can pass a hard bullet to a teammate in 0.00001 sec or flip dump the puck over everyone's head in the same amount of time. I have to HOLD a button to get it to go far enough but by the time I get enough power I either get hit or didn't get it far enough to get over the D's head and the jump up like superman, pass a lightening pass and score in less than 1 sec (which happened by the way). the sliders are useless and if you drop the difficulty then you blow them out and score 5 goals a game as a rookie or leave it on all-star or super-star you might as well say you just burned $60 because you are going to lose nearly every game and now with the form score I might was well not play.
(edit): another pet peeve of mine is on the lines of what SzuperSkillz said. lets say your Nick Suzuki and your out there playing your position, guarding your man in the defensive zone, getting say 10-15 shots on goal, poke checking like a mad man and even blocked a few shots BUT you couldn't score that game. and besides that your 5 other teammates (4 other skaters and goalie) gives up 6 goals (say 3 while your on the ice). is the coach gonna blame Suzuki? hell no. he won't "gig" him and say "you should have done better, your not producing enough". he won't say "well you just lost some of your shooting ability and shot power" or "your defensive play just went down a ton". hell, hell no. yes it's a team game which is why I love hockey, but stop gigging our player for the other 5 people on the freaking ice. that pisses me off more than anything. hell I'd take a 6-0 loss if they wouldn't gig me when my teammates gives up the goals and not me. if I'm in the 'green zone' while on defense and I go to block a shot but it gets by me (which it does in real life by the way) and they score, don't gig me at all, I tried. if I'm out of my 'green zone' and they score gig me a point. now if I'm just cherry picking and they score ok gig a few but I should not go from 55% on defense to 30% after 2 goals and I tried. sorry for the rant but I relaunch the game more times because of that than anything. oh and the player AI are still really stupid and give up the puck more times than not
