I don't understand with all the technology with face scans/ AI etc why aren't all the starting goalies (at least) masks accurate? Is there a copy right issue with including them in the game? I've seen players faces equipment tattoos in other games but for some reason they can't get this done?
Here is the thing with goalie masks. EA has the right to utilize all goalie masks with the agreement they have with the NHLPA. However. There may be a need to have to acquire a secondary agreement, with the original designers of masks. Now whether they do or dont, may be the reason for not seeing absolute accuracy, regarding some masks.
They could start with fixing the **bleep** goalie mask on be a pro skaters....
They don't even need to fix this, let the community do it. Just let us import our own design into the game with a custom paint booth, something like the one used in racing games like Nascar or Forza. Or simply let us create maks design with Photoshop and import them into the game like we do on F1. Tons of artists will gladly makes a lot of custom and accurate masks.

Well, it's not a problem in Forza, why should it be a problem in NHL? Your statement highlight a small bad portion of something that could be far greater and fun. We crave more customisation for years now. That would be a cool way to add endless possibilities and you won't need to design masks anymore.

I think we need to stop allowing the trolls of our society determine what can and can't be added as really cool features to our favourite games.
The lack of accountability (permanent bans to EA servers) is what contributes to people trolling. If EA implemented a Team Builder style mode and actually permanently banned people for making offensive content - the offensive content wouldn't be a problem.
