Anyone else find this game borderline unplayable online because of how terrible the goaltending is? It’s absolutely atrocious and takes away from the game so much. There’s so many things wrong with this franchise but holy the goaltender rating system may as well not even exist. 89ovr goalies letting in backhand floaters from top of circles with no screen, then 82ovr goalies making back to back to back saves on X factor players 20 seconds later??
Goalies have been an issue for YEARS, as have the pylon AI defensemen, they don't care. As long as the whales spend their money to tier up and get their McDavid and MacKinnon builds, they won't change anything.
The funniest thing is watching a goalie flop around like a fish out of water for a puck that's near them...and somehow pushing it into their own net. Because the A.I can't figure out how to cover or play the puck that's loose haha. Honestly it's such a trash game.
Or seeing a puck glitch through the pads or a stick...ending up in the net.
One does see a fair share of "wtf"-moments from the goalies (and skaters too for that matter), but I don't know. I feel like generally things are improving, which is what I ask for.
I feel like sports games, and intense ones at that is super hard to get on a good level. If it was a matter of making the AI unbeatable, they can do that. If it's a matter of making them useless, they can do that too.
Making the AI good, but allow it to make mistakes... that's where weird things happen. Because they do have to make mistakes, preferably realistic ones.
But as players it is kind of inevitable to not exploit the weaknesses we find, just like real hockey players do if they find something that works. If skaters had the same overview of the ice as we do, things would be very different.
i know things are not perfect, but I also think that "perfect" doesn't exist. Perfectly good or perfectly bad, but not perfectly balanced.
I'm generally fine with how things are at the moment. But I don't expect a flawless game.
I do. Goalie performance in this game is completely horrible and absolutely unrealistic. It’s.extremely frustrating how many glitches there are and how many weak goals are allowed. Just like every year I can only hope that by next year they have fixed this problem. The number of complaints about this is staggering. Makes me wonder if they actually pay any attention to this forum. It’s time for a change EA
Come on man, this icon passing was supposed to be fixed months ago. It was fixed and EA had to reverse it because the fix broke something else so it was reversed and still not fixed again. It sucks that you ask for a video of this when EA is given feedback all the time that it is still broken.

Community ManagerThat is a different issue. Which is why I asked for a video. The problem with icon passing previously was that they were too slow.
Here's one that happened a couple days ago against my team. Unscreened, not much movement, slow shot along the ice. This should be going in 1 out of 500 times, but we see a bad "hug the post" or "short side" goal every night we play. Players have known for a long time to exploit it.
