Now that I have found out and confirmed that Franchise and Creation have been totally skipped I won't be buying the game this year!
Traditionally I have always looked forward to this time of year cause of the new E.A NHL release but now it's just a wait and decide and I can't buy a game if it's just like last year's game!
I'll just continue to play my 25.
Pisses me off.
Gameplay/Franchise/Creation SHOULD NEVER be skipped totally!
You wont miss anything but well made custom rosters. My hat is off to anyone, that spends time off their lives, to make FM players feel even a little bit better.

I'm in a similar boat too, I really want to get the newest games, but I haven't gotten a new game since 22. I totally agree especially about the creation stuff. I really love realism in the games, and I love the idea of creating my own team that they added back in 17. I just wish there were more. I loved how in the older games like 14, you could upload your own goal horn and context-specific music, that made it super immersive. I get that it costs money to get the rights to correct music, so this was an awesome feature. I also see other games where you can upload your own logos into the games, I would love that too. Customization is an aspect I really hope they improve.
Franchise was untouched but gameplay has changed (for better or for worse) I don't blame anyone for skipping though. Even content creators are struggling to find reasons for people to tune in or buy the game. Seems every year less work is done. We're essentially paying $70-$100 for a pass to play the game for the year rather than for any meaningful updates.
The gameplay deep dive was really just going over the things they fixed that they previously broke. Any other company this would be a free patch. Sucks we had to wait a year and they used it as a selling point but at least they fixed some stuff.
