You should not be able to throw a body check while skating backwards. A shove? Sure. But take a moment to think about the mechanics involved in shoving a player while you're skating backwards - you're not going to get as forceful of a shove due to basic physics.

Not unless you're backskating and gapping the guy off against the boards, or he cuts right into you...that's plenty easy enough

Correct, but the moment you're about to push a player against the boards, you're no longer skating backwards but more likely laterally and/or slightly forward.

I've never been able to master the LT move. I am constantly using LT to pivot with the puck though:

I think EA_Aljo is trying to explain that potential fixes may impact the ability to do this. I would hate to have this useful skill removed just because a few sweats have mastered being able to put their back to the defender. Especially since you can more easily shove a back-skating puck carrier off the puck since the last patch.
