I'm trying to clearly explain here what changes we need in NHL 27, concerning the locations and place of origin lists.
LOCATIONS LIST
First, Gävle, Karlstad, and Örnsköldsvik are found in the locations list if you choose Swedish as the game language. In other language versions, Gävle, Karlstad, and Örnsköldsvik have been replaced by Brynäs, Färjestad, and Modo. Rögle BK's hometown Ängelholm is not found on the locations list, even though Rögle BK has played in the SHL continuously since the 2015-16 season. The hometowns of other SHL teams are found on the locations list. Why has Ängelholm not been added to the locations list? In addition, a few Swedish cities are misspelled. For example, Skellefteå is written as Skellefteå AIK if you choose Finnish as the game language.
There is a similar problem with the Czech Republic, all other hometowns of Czech Extraliga teams are found on the locations list, but Hradec Králové is missing.
We have a comprehensive selection of cities in the locations list, but some new cities should be added to the locations list, here is a list of cities that should be added.
- Finland: Iisalmi, Imatra, Joensuu, Rovaniemi and Savonlinna
- Sweden: Gävle, Karlstad, Örnsköldsvik and Ängelholm
- Norway: Hamar and Oslo
- Denmark: Esbjerg and Herning
- Czechia: Hradec Králové
- Slovakia: Banská Bystric, Košice Nitra, and Trenčín
- Kazakhstan: Astana, Almaty and Oskemen (Ust-Kamenogorsk)
- Belarus: Minsk
- Ukraine: Kyiv
- Russia: Sochi, Vladivostok and Yekaterinburg
- China: Harbin and Shenzhen
- UK: Belfast and Cardiff
- Baltic States: Tallinn and Vilnius
- Austria: Graz, Linz and Salzburg
- Asia: Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Tashkent, Ulaanbaatar and Pyongyang
The list of place of origin also needs an update. Here are some countries and regions that should be added to the place of origin list:
- Bulgaria, Great Britain, Wales, Mongolia, UAE, Hong Kong, Uzbekistan
It would be good if in the future all countries in the place of origin list, US states, Canadian provinces and territories, and the UK regions of England, Northern Ireland, Scotland, and Wales were found in both the locations list and the place of origin list.
Currently, all US states and Canadian provinces and territories are found in the place of origin list, but Arkansas and the Northwest Territories are missing from the locations list.
