NHL 26 Feedback and Rating

First thing is first,

Hats off to the EA NHL Team on a good game they built this year. There’s definitely some changes with the gameplay and different modes they diligently worked on this past year. Some of the impressions of the game was the speed, this years game is faster and there is better skating. Second, there is better defending. I have noticed it is really easy playing defence this year than last year as there is more enhanced backwards skating.

With all the impressions, let’s look at the few things that should be implemented or patched and they’re real simple for me. Bring the mypro intros to offline or online gameplay, I wish there were tunnel entrances for the offline modes. Second, make the red full pressure boards optional, not all of us enjoy the red boards flashing. Third, make the passing icon indicators optional as they were optional in last years game.

Overall, a little more work has to be done on this game. It is good so far, but there needs to be more changes as stated previously. I would rate the game a 7/10. It is a step up from last years game, but the full pressure meter boards and the passing icons and intros need to change in order for me to give a better rating. Other than that, good job EA! This game is a step up from last year.

  • It's not bad, but it's more of a 6/10 for me.
Presentation?  Non-existent again.  Something we've been asking for and again, EA ignores the community.  Started a game with the Hawks.  I saw the logo flashing on the ice with the announcer giving a quick "Hawks won the cup in....".  That's it.  Jump right into faceoff.  What happened to the player focus that used to be in this game?  Comparing the starting goalies.  These things get you excited to play the game.

The commentators are still annoying and basically yell at everything that occurs.  "He made a pass!!!"  Whoa...chill out Hyperman.
ICE Q:  Haven't really seen it.
You can finally turn off those annoying face off lights.
Still no team specific goal songs..  Honestly, I don't need the menu music.  Take that money and put it towards the rights to purchase the true goal songs for each team.

Skating feels slightly better and contact with other players also improved.

Plenty of adjustments will have to be made to the roster.  I've seen players with goal celebrations they normally don't do in real life (same as last year version).  Is this improved from last year?  Somewhat, but honestly, not worth the price.   I'll have to play more, but so far, I'm not rushing to turn on the PS5 to play this.  One day, I would like to play a game based purely on player ratings and not based on all the unnecessary sliders EA has implemented.  Then, I think we would have a closer simulation game. Right now, it really is just an arcade game.

I agree with some of the things you are mentioning, but my biggest problem is the red boards when it says full pressure. The passing icons were optional last year, but they’re not optional as of now. More patches are yet to come I believe. I hope some changes are coming

Can you fix the be a pro issue when it asks what game experience you want. I must’ve redone my game settings and sliders 4-5 times before I realized it wasn’t just a world juniors thing. Just really want to play the game with my settings without having to redo it every game
