Remaster/reboot NHL 14 and update it to the 27 season.

Go back to the era of nhl 11-14. Remaster/upgrade the graphics/code, whatever you gotta do to get it to run on modern consoles. Heck, I'd pay full price if the exact NHL 14 was updated/remastered, retitled to NHL27 and had updated rosters for next year! No x-factors, waaaaay less animations. More physics based gameplay. Those days were peak NHL. In your quest for realism for whatever reason, you guys have completely botched the fun factor in these games. I find myself regularly going back to NHL 11 and 14 on ps3 and getting waaay more enjoyment out of playing an offline franchise. I havent paid full price for an NHL game in years, and have no interest to buy 26. You have a good base with those older games if you would just re-start there. Im sure it will never happen, but I feel like this is how you get yourself out of the hole you're in. Bc these one mode "focused" updates each year are currently digging it deeper.

Appreciate all the details. I would be very surprised if NHL 14 got a remaster. As far as everything else goes, I'll relay the feedback. While I wouldn't want NHL 14 back, I would like to see the game focus more on team play and personal skill by balancing or removing the pressure system and tuning or removing XFs. I know the team is listening. Hopefully, we'll see that feedback acted on as well.

Appreciate the response. If the ai doesn't mirror movements (which it sure feels like it does) then it feels like it is on "always attack, or high pressure" all of the time on modern NHL's. Back on 11-14 the ai wouldn't go high pressure until you went up by 2 goals to try and force you into mistakes. In turn, if you made smart plays and beat the pinching defender/winger, you'd usually expose the ai and create odd man chances like 1 on 0s, 2 or 3 on ones.  I get the exception of x-factors, but they are a root problem because they run off of this paper, scissors, rock system for outcomes. Problem is, you've got rock, paper, scissors, nuke, brass knuckles, ect. (wont go into it anymore for a different discussion) The gameplay was more simplistic I think back then. There were less animations triggering that would give you messed up outcomes. Take for instance now a days, you see the stupid bobby orr desperation dive like 5x a game. I'd rather see that animation trigger one time every 50 games. Yes everyone wants this realistic hockey experience, but lets face it, realistic hockey doesn't translate to fun in a video game. If we had to dump and chase in 80% of the games played we'd quit playing b/c that's just dumb from a gameplay standpoint. Players want to possess the puck and create great passing plays or dekes coming into the zone. Create a play was a big thing back then, loved using it. Shame its gone b/c you could literally tell the ai where you wanted them to go to create your offensive opportunities. I'd love to see this come back and even be implemented somehow on the defensive side of the puck. They didn't have the "pressure system" back then. This is another idea that just needs to go away. It doesn't add to gameplay, it just causes frustration. Ope the pressure meter filled therefore my goalie got tired and couldn't make the save. This doesn't happen in real life at all and if a tendee ended up getting dog tired like that in just a few mins, he'd prolly never see the NHL again. Also the skill stick/deking system felt better back then. Players felt more responsive handling the puck (the stick movement felt more fluid) and to be able to pull the jaw dropping dekes, you had to have timing and skill. Not just press a button or 2 now a days. As far as presentation, it needs a full rework and my suggestion there is to fire up an NHL title from 11-14 and start with bringing all of whats in those games back on that front. The requests to remaster 14 are purely b/c that is the last great NHL. The menu's, the music, the available stats and tracking, gm connected, eashl (the customization to stick curve/flex/skate radius affecting stats), winter classic, gameplay, presentation, ect. It was all there in the palm of our hands and we'd love to have it back again. Thats why we want it re-mastered. I may take a stab at trying to get some video of 14 uploaded at some point. Thanks for your time Aljo, always appreciated!

Something I forgot to add...the opposing ai doesnt mirror your movement either...they actaully play this game more realistically than the ai in todays NHL games. They also make mistakes, something that rarely if ever happens in todays nhl games.

The AI don't actually mirror your movements. If you have some video comparing the NHL 14 AI to NHL 26, feel free to post it. I know there are requests for NHL 14 to be remastered so it would be good to see why there's interest in this. We've seen a lot of feedback saying the current gameplay is too arcade-y. NHL 14 gameplay was far less sim than 26. With the exception of OP XFs. Or is the interest mainly in presentation? Which, I agree, was more authentic with 14.

Ya in my first away game as the Wings in Gm Mode, played Chicago and got to watch their banner for winning the 2010 Stanley Cup go up to the rafters. I completely forgot that it was a thing in this game and had to "re-play" the game over to get a video of it and send it to a buddy and text him, "Look at more of the stuff they took from us!" LOL Love the 3 stars coming on the Ice as they should, although the only tweak needed there was that if an away team player is one of the 3 stars of the game, they dont comeout and do their little lap, they stay in the dressing room. I just absolutely hate the decisions they've made as a whole to get to where they are these days. Even the menu screens are better with flashing images of players with added splatter and streak art. These games were just so dang good! Also the soundtracks back then, SLAPPED!!!! Every one was just full of hockey music and bangers! Most of these songs are on my every day playlists all of these years later.

NHL 11-14 were the best years. I miss the raising of the banner, going out on the ice when you were one of the 3 stars of the game, or the longer pre game presentation.

The defense AI was bad tho, and I didn’t like the micro transactions.. but it was great times
