RIP NHL it was fun…. But it’s not anymore.

This game is beyond dead, it is absolute garbage, the amount of lag you deal with, the lack of responsiveness, and then you have the enabled glitches, the enabled LT cheats, people that escaped backwards the entire game:…

I played this game since its inception, and this has to be by far the most glitched, lagged garbage I have ever played….

We have complained for years for the LT cheat, stick spamming, the third period lag is just laughable,  backward skating, the inconsistencies of goalies that can stop the most absurd save in the world, but then they lit in the softest goals in the world, and now you have to deal with players that skate around the ice at top feet with no power they just put on the LT move and they can keep going. They don’t slow down. They don’t get sluggish. They just keep power driving.……. It’s just one big pile of nothing.

Enjoy your glitch games, cause I’m taking a break…. Thankfully, I spent nothing just to buy this game, because it’s not worth it.

What you guys decide to actually build a game that is enjoyable, that lacks arcade like non-reality behavior, and you actually get to the point that it’s enjoyable maybe I’ll try again. I’ll just hold it for someone else to try to make one.

I’m just tired of playing people that can’t play the game. They just rely on cheat moves, glitches puck spamming, and lately. I’m getting lag spikes  all over the place and it’s not my system because I can play another game and have no problem. It’s specific to this game only.!!!

    the LT move

I’ll probably get blasted for this, but I honestly don’t care. LT was fixed in NHL 26. In NHL 25 you could do the LT move by simply pressing LT at the right time. That’s it. That was removed in 26, whether people want to believe it or not.

However, the reality is the community has a lot of insanely skilled gamers who spend hours figuring out patterns and ways to gain an advantage. This is a video game after all, not real hockey.

Since NHL 26 launched, players figured out how to re-introduce the LT move by chaining together other mechanics in sequence. I’m not going to explain how because it’s cheesy, but it definitely takes more than just pressing LT now. It involves manipulating multiple mechanics, and once someone learns it, it becomes muscle memory.

So although the 'LT move' is still happening, EA did remove the ability to execute it by a simple LT press. I honestly don't think they anticipated people figuring out how to re-engage skating backwards by way of utilizing other mechanics in succession to LT. Chances are the limited QA team would not have been able to find the sequence that would re-introduce the move. Thus, the community did and now here we are.

I actually understand EA’s challenge here. Because the move now relies on several mechanics, fixing it (again) risks breaking a bunch of useful gameplay systems and creating way more frustration than the current LT situation.

I'm not defending EA here, just trying to provide important details that explain why the 'LT' move has come back and was seemingly not 'fixed' as promised and why EA has a challenge in fixing it. Personally, I'd wager the engineering under the hood to fix this is a major adjustment being saved for a full release in '27, but we'll have to wait and see.  Back to my cave.

Here is a great video of the game not working. This was deemed an "animation glitch" however it looks like lag but it was in offline play.

I passed this on to the team. This was the first time they've seen this happen so it's a very rare issue. I've not seen any other reports either. Regardless, it's one they're investigating. It's going to take time to address since we just found out about this when you reported it the other day.

The evidence exists. The focus isn't on fixing issues unless it relates to the store/card mode.

You can look at the patches to see we've been addressing issues with offline modes as well. We're not only focused on HUT.

I have created a few forums myself based on issues that have persisted for a many years now.

I will also try to get a clip of a player getting their head stuck in the boards behind the net in 3's and was stuck there till the play stopped.

I still want to see videos of how the game doesn't work because EA makes it work, all you have to do is watch videos on FB or Reddit how the game goes wrong, only someone with their own ideology says that the problem is always on the buyer's side rather than the seller's side.

That's why I completely uninstalled it out of frustration and I don't have any interest in the game. The game is purely about what kind of people are working on this game. Year after year, the game is copied and so on... but what do you expect from a company that completely doesn't care about the customer. Hold doesn't wish anything on anyone, but for EA to feel bad when they let their Arabs go because these are not developers but copycats, what's new there, more bugs, more problems

  • Sadly, this is all CHEL is and all it will ever be. They don't want to offer a fun experience and now that it's moving more towards pay to win it will only get worse as more games come out.

I rarely play any of the online modes but when I do I can call out the goals that are being scored (as they are being scored).

It seems the mentality of the community that they only know how or want to use those sorts of goals or moves to replace skill or use it cause EA makes them use them to compete.

Plus, the redesigned xfactors have  actually made the the gameplay worse then the old ones.

It's not about the experience or fun anymore. It's about how much money they can make after the initial purchase.
