We need a way of better communication with yall at E.A!!!

Ehh, not to defend how nasty the community was getting but from what I remember the staff didn't exactly handle it well either - I was told that there was nothing was wrong (the game is "perfect") and I was just bad at the game for example. One of the main problems people were having (and let's be honest, still have), is the sheer amount of red tape behind goings on and constant "we'll just have to see" replies that cause further frustration.

At one point in time there was a developer that would come in on his own free time and answer questions they could answer. Then came the huge problem that caused them to stop showing up and instead they just read the forums and have their council people deliver ideas. The problem was people didn't want to accept the answers and reasoning given. So if the community can't act like grownups accepting answers and reasons then there is no point to having it.

I see both sides of this. The devs don't want to get attacked online. I get that, it sucks. Same time, this forum compared to other games, is much tamer in their rage than other forums. Respect needs to be shown in making complaints and/or suggestions presented in a way that isn't crossing lines. Again devil's advocate here, but if a large contingent of fans are angry about certain aspects that aren't being included in the game, or a PC version that would actually generate more sales, and they get ignored year after year, how exactly do the devs think that people are going to react? Listening to the people spending money on your game, or having the devs explain why something isn't happening, is just part of owning and operating a business, more importantly, its part of the video game industry. Every company is held to account by their customers. Ignore them, and your sales drop. Its that feeling of disconnect that is slowly chipping away your loyal customer base. I appreciate our mods on here, they pass on or concerns, and they do a great job, but let's face the reality, they can pass things on, but the devs choose to ignore the concerns anyways. Too afraid to take the anger themselves, they send these amazing mods to take the heat for them. If they really cared about the fans and their mods, they would do something to make fans feel heard and respected. 2 main points: Fans should be respectful in dealing with EA, and the EA dev team needs to own up to their mistakes and show fans that they care.

We are more than willing to accept whatever reason you give if you can take the time to see how it negatively impacts the game and work towards fixing mistakes for the future. When I get mad that a puck literally went underneath me leading to a goal even though I was in perfect position, it's just that my guy was *hovering 1 inch above the ice* and you explain the mechanics behind that, yeah I can accept that answer at face value but time and time again when it keeps happening, to me, it shows the team just doesn't care enough to accept the fault and try to fix it for next year. Our jerseys STILL change colours on their own. The AI STILL hangs up on every faceoff in 3v3, and they STILL let you just waltz past em for an easy goal more than a decade later. Yeah, i'm not sorry for getting mad and yeah, you *should* be made to hear it. Devs don't like getting blasted but the community doesn't like getting the runaround.

I’ve never felt like it was easier to get an employee to actually reply to your forum post than here. I’m coming from a world of Warcraft, call of duty background which are massive games but I’ve found these forums to consistently be replied by staff in. I’m grateful they’re replying in NHL forums cause it’s probably their lowest earner as far as their sports games.

There has to be a BETTER way to communicate with E.A staff than this!

NHL is no longer one of my boards and it's not like any of us get paid anyway; I believe I was only asked to be part of the program by Blue because I was asking these questions but when you have to keep doing it over and over and over, you kind of don't see the point anymore - I totally see why other members of the community just give up. If the team doesn't care enough to watch and use my evidence why should I feel the need to sift through the older posts to find them again, right?

My point of you putting your head in the sand is your posts defending EA full bore - Just because something is tradition, just because "that's how the code works", doesn't mean that's how it needs to be and needs to stay that way. I'm just fighting for some quality of life upgrades and I see people so adamantly against that it hurts my brain.

I've been to the studio as well; you're not the only person who has a deeper connection with people and practices. It all comes down to some sort of combination of 3 things for me
1. They just aren't skilled enough (and need more people) to get everything done in a year
2. They just dun wanna (I'd love to get paid to just tell people to wait and see at launch; what a dream job)
3. They actually really do care but the higher ups/suits are down their necks making bad decisions

They've been time and again unable to fix things (think L2 and jersey glitches), some pretty awful presentation aspects are just considered features and low priority at this point, the inability to even remotely talk about anything that hasn't been made super duper 100% official (we're still at this point 2 weeks from launch btw), direct promises that things will be different and I've been left hanging for years now (there's gotta be some sort of statute of limitations for this), etc.
I probably sound like a jh erk at this point but I don't think anyone can say I'm being that unreasonable with my requests.

I'm talking about the most basic plays, stuff that is easily reproducible and has been around for literally a decade, not some freak accident/bug/glitch.
Not everyone can find everything, that should go without saying, but I'm talking about an entire storefront for multiple weeks on end not offering new items, having doubles, and being mega buggy - There is absolutely no way everybody didn't know this could and would be an issue - I am strolling through town clanging a bell yelling SHAME SHAME for if this was any other place I would most definitely be fired from QA testing for this one "squeak through" and I'll die on this hill.

Said it up top but I've already "done my part" numerous times over already.
