Vision Control L2 Issue on Total Control

I use total control.  Every time I try to use L2 my player faces the net instead of having his back to the net no matter what I do.  Other players use vision control and they automatically put their back to the net.  It is a huge advantage and no matter how I position my right and left stick while trying my player never or very rarely puts his back to the net.

How do I fix this?

Hi there. I haven't heard of this happening before. Can you get a video of it? Just put it up somewhere it can be streamed and respond with a link. Thanks!

Thanks for your reply.  Here is the link.

In the video, I am holding L2 about 95% of the time, most of the time without touching the right stick.  Rarely does my player skate backwards, regardless if I am trying to position the puck away from the net.  When the skater does skate backwards and I attempt right stick control, the player kind of glitches and I have to disengage.

You will only skate backwards with the puck if you're holding LT while skating away from the net in the O-Zone.

To face away from the net, your player will need to be without the puck while the puck carrier is below you. For example, if you're at the net-front looking for a deflection. Holding LT will always face the puck (with your back to the net)

Thank you. Kid's response should explain what's going on here.

This doesn't answer it, unfortunately.  Look at the video here:

My player doesn't move like this, especially at around the 2:00 mark.  This player easily faces back to the net.  I position my controls the same way but to no avail.

Edit: Video link removed. While this is a widely known exploit, we don't need to advertise it here. -CM

What you're seeing in that video is the unintended 'LT Move' people often describe here. This is only doable by exploiting the mechanics and I won't go into details on how to do that.

  • Yeah it's a dangerous line asking about this "mechanic" in the forum. Many people do not like it and do not want to see anyone using it in game. There are plenty of videos out there that will show you how to do what you want if you look in the right spots but like Kid also stated, I am not gonna be the one to spread the information out. I am just hoping its removed or heavily nerfed for 27.
