Hope so director of this game serie reads this message. Or actually, he should read this forum and they should think that how they have succeeded in their work.
I'm pretty sure that making this game can't be profitable and the number of players will definitely decrease. EA's top management and the NHL itself would be also interested in what kind of game the current team has developed.
You don't listen to the community.. You don't develope this game for your customers, you develope game for yourselves. You don't have enough expertise. You can't fix even the simplest bugs (Penalties) in this game. You come up with all kinds of useless things for the game (e.g., visuals: headgear/costumes) instead of even trying to fix this game. You spend developers valuable and precious time creating things like this to this game?! Seriously?
As long as the game has such huge problems and bugs you should leave out all the extras and focus on the core issue.
If this game series wants to be successful again in the future, it really needs to change direction completely. This also means finding the right people for the job. Sorry to say this but unfortunately the current team is not capable of doing this job.

There have been a huge amount of changes based on community feedback. We are also going to add things we didn't get feedback on. Every single year we get complaints that the game is copied and pasted. Even when it's blatantly obvious there are changes. We also get a high amount of requests to just port old games over they liked better. You'd also be surprised just how popular that gear is. I'm not saying I like it. It would be good to have a way to disable them client side.
