In my opinion it is very clear that EA simply does not know how to fix it. Thats why matchmaking is still broken.
In Europe we have lots of problems, error codes, some one drops and cant get in the game. We need to restart game every single night many times. Password search is broken, sometimes just cant find opponent and restart is needed. We would like to search 6v6 games but game gives us opponent which have only 4 players etc. I probably forgot something.
EA_Aljo says that his game is working fine but he is in the USA. So no one on the EA team can test the European servers. Meaning these issues will definitely remain unresolved.
They also clearly have a very small team working on this game. This is why updates take forever and half of the problems cannot be fixed. Sad but they dont have the time or resources. Maybe EA could just start update this same game instead of releasing a "new version" every year. This way EA would not be under pressure to release a new game and could simply fix the problems in order.

My club personally is having very little issue with matchmaking. I know that's not the case for everyone. We typically run 5s and 6s and haven't had trouble finding matches and in most cases we find another 5 or 6 player team. There are of course times this isn't the case. Matchmaking prioritizes team size and ping. Since ping is normally most important, you may be matched against a team that doesn't have the same amount of players. This is also dependent on the available player pool at the time of the search.
Something else to keep in mind is that there are numerous teams running private matches as well as many leagues that operate in the evenings. These are further going to shrink the player pool. So, adding a match team size filter will most likely lengthen wait times, but of course there are those of you that are happy to wait for a 6s match. We'll have to see if that changes someday.
EA_Aljo let's be honest here . EA community has complained in every social media platform there is about matchmaking making and detouring new players and recurring players to play other games.. match making is the most broken thing in nhl for years .. player pool is only going to get smaller with the broken match making system EA runs. Ea just shows the ea community it doesn't care about its player base and continues to ignore the situation.. all it has to say player base small longer wait times
This is the response I'm expecting from EA_Aljo . Sorry for late response was out of town player pool is small which will cause delayed match making times will pass the information on about the match making ..
We all want a better match making system for more competitive games .. lesser player don't want to be stomped on by better player and better player want to play a game and not have to look for another match when the team quits 5 minutes into game. Fix the match making and the player pool will gain player instead of loosing more. Making new players play a different game instead .
