Wish list: BAP 27
Each year there’s frustration and deception with some unrealized hope. As a longtime player (nhl 2004), I’ve come to the conclusion that you have at least to try if you want to see some changes. So here’s my wishlist to make BAP a dream offline mode. Feel free to add your spices!
Continue to make some annual changes.
BAP hasn’t seen any update since so long, this year was refreshing and I’m looking to see some modifications each year. No modes should stay the same each year.
The “news feed” should be completely reinterpreted.
At this moment, you can’t even see how much time you have with your unknown injury. Same issue with the trade deadline, you can have a wonderful season with your winger and randomly next game you lost your 2 partners… For now the only way to see it is by the “news feed” who’s completely dysfunctional. I will suggest:
- Add Injury list like in franchise mode.
- Make a totally new “news feed “ interface with all the trades by team in the past 5 years, trade block, the call up and new signatures.
- For the trade deadline you should have a reunion with the coach to be advised the vison (buyer, seller, etc).
- Before each season it will be a nice addition if you have a discussion with the coach about the new players and the changes since 1st July
- Finally, when there’s a trade with your team you should received a notification.
You should compete for your country during your career.
the addition of the IIHF world juniors was a great update this year! As we just witness with the olympics, the international hockey is really exciting. During the EA NHL calendar there’s already the 2 weeks off you should add the World Cup, international competition each 4 years (instead of olympics).
You should be able to negotiate your contract.
As a free agent, you should be able to add some clauses, or at least enter in a “negotiations phase”.
You should be able to do your warm up skates.
Just like in NBA, what a nice addition it can be to do your warmup skates and contribute to your stamina pregame by shooting some pucks on the net.
Last wish, new commentators, new mojo, new energy, new langage!
An aspect of the game who keep repeating itself year after year, is the narrative and the classic commentary… This part of the game would really benefits of an upgrade and why not include other’s languages! Btw there’s HoF commentator on the French Canadian part who would be great in the game!

Finally some suggestions for the actual BAP 26:
- Energy week should be optimized (stamina grudging). Love this new feature but unfortunately it is so strict and the stamina goes down so drastically you need to focus only on that and can’t improve “in season” your Trait points or X factors. I will like to see more energy per week and less stamina draining or at least not as a rookie (make it impact your durability in the long term)…
- The evaluation coach/challenges should be less frequently used. In my mind this as a lot of potential! Unfortunately, it seems to have broken the progression in the organization for the athlete. Example, you can be the elite rookie player in your team but because you had 2 bad games your downgrade in the ahl. Or because you wasn’t on the score sheet, your game score is lower than 65 beside you having a great game and being +5… I wish to keep the coach evaluation but I will keep it for the big changes (upgrading on the power play 1, making the team as a rookie, upgrading on the first line). For the rest, the progression/evaluation per game as be to be coherent with you (A+,A,A-,B+,etc).
- AI offline can be weak. I experienced this game on superstar mode. Unfortunately, I’m the only player who can enter the zone. The AI of every other players (teammates and opponents) is false and static for most of the time. A simple observation, I understand the complexity of it.
