What the heck is the point of grudge matches anyway when they are always against teams/players you've never met before? So dumb.

Agreed.  They have a real hard time just subtly implementing something. Grudge matches are a great idea, it would be great if the past history of the two teams playing could be used as part of the broadcast of the current game.  But that quickly gets lost in the fact there are also a bunch of "Opening Clashes" where its a grudge match you've never played before.  Add in the X-factor boosts and what could have been a nice bit of polish to make the game better becomes "LOOK AT THIS! WE ADDED THIS!!!!".  I get they need to really sell what makes each annual edition stand out, but its bad design philosophy to arrive at improving the quality of the product.

Yeah, backhand also boosts the backhand pass so it does have 2 quality uses, but I agree with everything you're saying! This is a multi faceted problem.. the X factors are really unbalanced, the grudge match doesn't work correctly, and the randomness of the xfactor is a poor system. It would be cool if the grudge match did work correctly, and it gave us info about the last game and maybe let us choose an xfactor based on that? Or we could decide on which one it gives us in the player builder? 

Sure Backhand Beauty it's OP so I'll just be told to be happy with it, but I never intentionally take backhand shots - stop freaking giving me that when the other guy gets a rocket shot or Truculence...
